Kenzie's Kitchen: Pasta with Peas and Ham
http://kenzieskitchen.blogspot.com/2009/12/pasta-with-peas-and-ham.html
Tuesday, December 01, 2009. Pasta with Peas and Ham. Website, which is where I found the following recipe. I was immediately drawn to it because one of my favorite dishes at Tiramisu. Contains pasta, ham and peas. Although my pasta was pretty good, it didn't even compare to the Tiramisu dish . . . but that's okay. It wouldn't be such a treat to eat at Tiramisu if I could replicate their pasta at home! Pasta with Peas and Ham. 1 shallot, diced. 1 clove garlic, thinly sliced. 2 tbsp. water. The kitchen is ...

Kenzie's Kitchen: Planning for Thanksgiving
http://kenzieskitchen.blogspot.com/2009/11/planning-for-thanksgiving.html
Sunday, November 15, 2009. Last year, I reviewed Thanksgiving menus from several food magazines ( part one. It was fun, but I don't think I have time to do the same this year. However, I have been thinking about my contributions to our Thanksgiving meal. So far I have only settled on one thing - this salad:. Roasted Butternut Squash Salad with Warm Cider Vinaigrette. 1 (1 1/2-pound) butternut squash, peeled and 3/4-inch diced. 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup. Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Kenzie's Kitchen: Butternut Squash
http://kenzieskitchen.blogspot.com/2009/11/butternut-squash.html
Sunday, November 15, 2009. I'm trying to share my bounty of butternut squash from the garden, but having trouble finding people to share with. I can understand the reluctance to take zucchini in the summer . . . but who would not. A couple of people have said "I don't know what to do with butternut squash." Of course, that could just be a polite way to decline, but maybe they're telling the truth. If so, here are some suggestions:. Roasted Butternut Squash Salad with Warm Cider Vinaigrette. Visions of Su...

All the News That Fits Our Bent: July 2006

All the News That Fits Our Bent. Thursday, July 27, 2006. Thursday, July 27. A good paper today.honest to goodness news on the front page and on the city/county front. Now this is what a small-city newspaper should look like! The saved-from-drowning story was a bit purple and overlong, but hey, it was the only feature. Yesterday's paper (July 26). Page 9A (Front of City/County- probably the best-read page in the paper). Hare - No story. Zinga 21 inches, 1 photo; Hare zero inches or photo. Forecast: Many ...

All the News That Fits Our Bent. Sunday, October 29, 2006. Some good stories in Friday's edition.the Eells house, the Sam's Club project, and a delightful Friday File. Nothing spectacular, just the kind of solid, day-to-day work that makes for good small city journalism. But seriously. Is the Eells house "one of the nation's most significant sites on the Underground Railroad"? My Hype-o-Meter is flashing yellow. Posted by Allthenewsthatfits at 3:51 AM. Wednesday, October 25, 2006. The Wack or the Hack?

All the News That Fits Our Bent: February 2007
http://allthenewsthatfitsourbent.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
All the News That Fits Our Bent. Monday, February 26, 2007. Lies, Damned Lies, and . . . College enrollment figures. Saturday's article featured four colleges all trying their best to spin their numbers. Very apples-to-oranges in some of those numbers. Culver's claim of a rise in enrollment from fall to spring is very surprising, and I have to say a bit suspicious. H-LG's figures are, at least as reported, incomprehensible. Students who enroll for the entire year are only counted in the fall? Google has ...
