After all the plaster repairs were dry and the floor moldings stripped, it was time to paint. When I started, I had no idea as to what color I wanted the room, but I knew I wanted to try something bolder than usual and not go for white again. One thing that struck me while we had the miniblinds and furniture out was how bright the room itself was. That got me thinking about warm colors. Yes, th...

Dishes are mostly done, a loaf of whole-wheat struan is rising in the oven, and the 90 minute trek to the SO's family for Christmas day will happen once the loaf is done. Another big dinner, but the menu will surely be different - traditional Italian Christmas dinner - and I can't wait for the SO's BIL's seafood salad. What an embarassment of riches!

First, the walls had big cracks in them, so all the trim came down, and the cracks were all plastered and sanded. In addition to the cracks, since I wasn't going to put the doors to the kitchen and living room back, the areas where the door frames were were also treated to plastering to finish them off. The combination of being sick and not sleeping had sapped my physical strength, and weakened me mentally. That's when they made their move. Up 'til then I had remained relatively stoic, keeping the monsters in my head contained so they wouldn't attack those around me. Sensing the weakness they started testing the locks on their cages, whispering to me and planting doubt.
