I have not eaten so much nutella that I can no longer walk to my computer. In fact, I wish. It has been a long while since I last posted due to the internet shortage around here. Internet shortage, you ask? The internet in these lovely dorms has been minimized. I only have enough internet to do so much. However, I realized that I must prioritize. The blog must go on! Particularly due to the fact that I JUST received my bank card. But I do indeed have a bank card. Oh the decisions I encounter.

Les chiens et les gitans. The night we went to see the fireworks. I learned a few things about the city of Metz. We went with some friends and decided to park at the south part of the park (where the fireworks were going to be held) and walk north to get there. For the visual learner I have included a very cool map with all the details at the bottom of the post.]. In simpler terms: a 30 minute detour of walking. If we had taken the pathway it would have taken us about 10 minutes to arrive at the park.

One of our first weekends here we went to see a concert and fireworks. It was all part of the celebration of the Mirabelle festival in the city of Metz. Right before the concert started it was raining and so when we showed up there was barely anyone. Most people decided not to come at all (at least that's what we were told) since last year the field was FULL of people. This year, not so much. Not that you can see anybody anyway in this really dark photo. Fine by me, we came for the fireworks! So much ash...

Courtesy of BNP Paribas. Upon our arrival in France we needed to set up a bank account so we could have cheques and credit/debit cards. The school where my husband Alain is attending arranged for all new students to meet with the bank and open accounts. We arrived at the appointed time and had to sign a million papers and then everyone was given their cheques and bank cards. That is, everyone EXCEPT us. What does plus tard. What does later mean? Later as in Friday (3 days from now)? Later as in next week?
