February | 2012 | Quantifying Life
https://quantifyinglifedotcom.wordpress.com/2012/02
Finding order in chaos. Archive for February, 2012. The Opposite of Love is…. February 13, 2012. The opposite of love is not hate. This is one of my favorite quotes, but most people don’t really understand it. They’ll argue that hate is the opposite of love, but won’t understand where indifference fits in the picture. It can be difficult to quantify something as intangible as love, so I put together a diagram:. Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window).

The Hidden Symmetry Behind Elevator Etiquette | Quantifying Life
https://quantifyinglifedotcom.wordpress.com/2012/01/24/elevator
Finding order in chaos. The Hidden Symmetry Behind Elevator Etiquette. The Hidden Symmetry Behind Elevator Etiquette. January 24, 2012. But what about elevators? Does the Law of Optimal Personal Space (LOOPS) apply here as well? I live on the 17th floor of a high-rise building and work downtown on the 23rd floor of an office building and have observed, over a very large sample space of data, that this law does indeed hold with great symmetry. Let me break down the elevator geometry here:. This is a line.

https://quantifyinglifedotcom.wordpress.com/2012/03
Finding order in chaos. Archive for March, 2012. Life is Short Indeed. March 7, 2012. Life is shorter than I had originally imagined. That’s not because of any differences in the average life expectancy, but because of our perception of time. It looks like Albert Einstein was right… time is relative. But is that 80 years really going to feel like 80 years? Probably not, because as almost any grown-up can tell you, your perception of time accelerates as you age. Let me elaborate…. Life is Short Indeed.

Sunrise and Sunset on Marine Drive →. Dear Players of Various Ball Games in the Oval Maidan. May 7, 2011. Image by kittell via Flickr. The people jogging on the periphery of the maidan, are not your fielders, dogs, slaves, ball-boys, and other such categories of persons. Therefore, we do not take kindly to that horrible lip-puckering sound you use to call us. And, by the way, it kind of defeats the whole purpose of you coming down to the maidan, if we have to run after the balls, doesn’t it? Sunrise and ...
