Saturday, January 19, 2008. The walk did both of us a power of good and we returned to sit for another couple of hours before coming back to Cottingham. Wednesday, January 16, 2008. We are still in Hull. We drove through torrential rain, arriving around 8.30am and spent the day at Mummy's bedside. When the nurse who'd called us returned to duty last night, she told us that she felt that we could go back to Cottingham for a reasonable night's sleep and promised us that she would call if the situation changed. Thank you all for kind thoughts as always. They mean a great deal to us. Posted by Gill at 7:51 am. To Hull and back. Another trip to Hull.

Sunday, January 06, 2008. We arrived in Hull fearing the worst and though she was clearly not at all well, a smile and a raised hand to greet us was more than enough to reassure us that she was on the mend. During Saturday afternoon, as the rehydration worked the medication out of her system, she gradually became more alert and less sleepy. Later in the day, she was transferred to Ward 16 - we went with her, saw her settled and then left her to rest. Posted by Gill at 8:32 pm. To Hull and back.

Wednesday, September 27, 2006. This is the most hectic week I've had in ages: Mark's been in New York, having fun with friends and hearing great performances of music by his favourite Joachim Raff. So in the odd free half hour here and there, what do I do but gather a few things from the garden and put a kind of arrangement on the table to make me feel like I'm still keeping it all together at home. It began witha few conkers I collected from the Waitrose car park, but needed a bit more and a bit more.
