A Sense of Purpose

A Sense of Purpose. If you've never stared off into the distance, then your life is a shame. Tuesday, January 15, 2013. It's been awhile.as it always seems to be. This past year was a giant mess, though, but nothing I could really talk about or rant about in a public forum. Some things seem to have been resolved, and I am handling things better. I started seeing a counselor back in June? Thankfully, something positive has also happened! I got a job back at the school I from which I was displaced! Unfortu...

A Sense of Purpose: January 2012

A Sense of Purpose. If you've never stared off into the distance, then your life is a shame. Saturday, January 14, 2012. Day 23: A Picture of What You Did Today. I'm backtracking a little here, but this is sufficient:. I hung out with those two nuts and decided I definitely wanted to be a mom. Day 22: A Picture that Describes Your Life. Happy With this guy:. Friday, January 13, 2012. Thankfully, I'm not superstitious. And it was a picture of my dogs. He is the only car I ever owned and I was prepared to ...

A Sense of Purpose: September 2012

http://quarterlifepurpose.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

A Sense of Purpose. If you've never stared off into the distance, then your life is a shame. Monday, September 24, 2012. Unfortunately, even with all this, I feel completely and utterly alone. I feel empty and like I can't fill that emptiness up with anything. My mind wanders to worst case scenarios and fills it with negative thoughts and feelings that I can't control or fix. I can't make the feelings go away no matter what logical thoughts I have to combat them. Thursday, September 20, 2012.

A Sense of Purpose. If you've never stared off into the distance, then your life is a shame. Saturday, April 17, 2010. I realized today that it's been over a month since I last posted, which is very unlike me.but I just haven't felt like being clever lately. There were several times I thought about blogging because there have been a few things slightly worth blogging about, but I just never got around to it! Anyway, the most exciting thing at the moment is my vegetable garden! My blackberry bush, which h...

Bride in Training: November 2008

http://bride-in-training.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Choosing to love and be loved, every single day. Tuesday, November 25, 2008. Thinking more clearly now. A few months ago, my father bought me a book that I've refused to read. It's called The Female Brain. From anyone because I'm afraid that hearing that will lead me by the nose into a sort of infantile trust in a flawed system (particularly one that has been established by the patriarchal hegemony). WellDr. Brizendine has a suggestion. That's fine. What matters is that I perceived it as a stressor, ...

Bride in Training: August 2008

http://bride-in-training.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Choosing to love and be loved, every single day. Friday, August 29, 2008. Well, Jack and Robert have managed to inform literally almost all of my friends and associates about this weekend's plans.and yet not a single person has blown the surprise! Some people have sheepishly admitted to coming close to spilling the beans, but I've been effectively kept in the dark. This is quite an accomplishment, considering Jack's been working on these plans for months and months. Is it 4:00 yet? I know we'll have a go...

Bride in Training: January 2009

Choosing to love and be loved, every single day. Friday, January 30, 2009. To read, or not to read. Lame joke, I know. Forgive me. I'm sleep deprived and trying not to acknowledge the precipice upon which I stand. She did give me a more narrow focus for when I study for the exams over the next couple of weeks, which is a relief. Thursday, January 29, 2009. I got an e-mail from our Graduate Studies Coordinator with the official exam schedule:. Wednesday, February 18: 7:45-10:45 am, Shakespeare. Well, most...

Bride in Training: 17 days away and just holding on for dear life

http://bride-in-training.blogspot.com/2009/05/17-days-away-and-just-holding-on-for.html

Choosing to love and be loved, every single day. Wednesday, May 6, 2009. 17 days away and just holding on for dear life. I haven't updated in a while, mostly because the rest of the semester since achieving ABD spiraled largely out of control. Without recapping everything, I'll just focus on where we stand 17 days before the wedding. It seems to me that there is a complete disconnect between the reality and people's fantasies for this wedding. An error on your part does not equal an emergency on my part.

Bride in Training: September 2008

http://bride-in-training.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Choosing to love and be loved, every single day. Saturday, September 27, 2008. No sleep for the weary. It's been a few days since I've posted, so I suppose I should begin with a quick recap. I spent the morning on the phone with the insurance company, the student medical clinic, and my ophthalmologist's office. The insurance company won't cover my visit because I failed to get a referral from the student medical clinic first. Why didn't I get a referral? Ugh Thursday was ever more of the same. Althou...

Bride in Training: 12 days to go and waiting with bated breath

http://bride-in-training.blogspot.com/2009/05/12-days-to-go-and-waiting-with-bated.html

Choosing to love and be loved, every single day. Monday, May 11, 2009. 12 days to go and waiting with bated breath. In twelve days, I marry the man I love. In twelve days, I learn what my mom kept promising I'd learn. In twelve days, I drop a last name to gain another. In twelve days, I knit my soul to Robert's to be witnessed by my friends and family. In twelve days, my real life begins. In twelve days, I wear that gorgeous dress for its intended purpose. In twelve days, I celebrate a family doubled.

Living Out Loud: March 2011

http://leebeep.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 14, 2011. The garden bed layout is finished, with some pretty significant changes from last year. I had begun with Eliot Coleman's crop rotation. As a starting point last year, which was good, but definitely needed some tweaking this year. Here it is:. Those are our nine beds, left to right. The pile in the upper left corner are 2 herbs I won't be including in the raised beds and 3 veggies that took over. And somewhere open for the candy roaster. Perhaps some frogs will find a home there too.

QuarterLife Plot

Wednesday, August 5, 2009. That Thing You Do. Last night at TAB we started talking about the things we do as the Church and why it is that we as the Church do those things. I brought up church membership- joining a church. Why is it that we do that? Why is it important? Is it just so there's a church out there that will do your funeral when you die? So you can get married there? So you can have a place- a "home? What are some other things that the Church does that we should talk about? 50 Days of Prayer.
