Quarters One: A Dining Room Make Over, Already!
http://quarters1.blogspot.com/2014/02/a-dining-room-make-over-already.html
My Life in the General's Quarters. February 25, 2014. A Dining Room Make Over, Already! Almost immediately after posting my dining room blog I decided to do a mini makeover…I don't know why. Oh, I do know why…I just can't stand to leave well enough alone! AND I painted the white built in shelving, it was making me crazy. The white space just contrasted too much against the brown and made the odd wall really stand out. Here is the second, and (maybe) final, edition. They, in fact, are not our relatives bu...

My Life in the General's Quarters. February 2, 2015. My Whole(30) New Life. A gratuitous photo of a chandelier. Yesterday was my birthday! I woke up feeling amazing.happy with myself and looking forward to the year ahead. For the past few years on my birthday I would say.'ok, STARTING TODAY, I am going to lose weight, take better care of myself, not worry so much, and make a difference to someone'. Unfortunately, most of those resolutions fall by the wayside shortly after the day passes. A blog I follow,...

Quarters One: June 2014
http://quarters1.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
My Life in the General's Quarters. June 4, 2014. I Wish I Didn't Know. I wish I hadn't gotten one of those phone calls yesterday. It was far too familiar and I knew what he was going to say before he said it. The way he caught his breath before he told me. The tired, sad whisper on the other end of the phone.one of my sons telling me that another friend had been killed in Afghanistan. I wish I didn't know. Choking back emotion with disbelief as he began,. Ma, I've got some bad news, it's very bad.".

My Life in the General's Quarters. November 27, 2014. The Most Wonderful Day of the Year. Like most people, I think Thanksgiving is the most wonderful day of the year. This Thanksgiving I hope the path that takes you home is a safe one. I hope you find the people gathered around your table are far more important that what is served on your table. I hope that you are mindful of those less fortunate and of those who are serving far away from home. From our Quarters One to yours,. We miss you two! It was ch...

My Life in the General's Quarters. September 17, 2014. What I Did Over My Summer Vacation. There's already a chill in the air and the official end of summer is only a few days away, hard to believe! I spent most of the summer at the beach and computer access is spotty, hence my blog break. Here's a quick run down of my lazy summer vacation. Watermelon was my go to dish this summer.for appetizers, side, or dessert.I believe we ate a field full. I had girlfriends visit. We drank quite a few Bloody Marys!

My Life in the General's Quarters. July 13, 2015. My Paris Apartment, Reveal. So, maybe it's not quite a Paris apartment but I desperately wanted a change in our chateau and painting the dining room seemed like the obvious solution.that's a stretch but it's all I've got! From Sherwin Williams Backdrop to Sherwin Williams Alabaster here is final product. I love, love the change! Even though Alabaster is a cool shade I really like it as a palette for all of my warm colors. This Quarters One Dining Room.

My Life in the General's Quarters. July 4, 2015. Our Quarters One on a sunny day! I wanted to come up on the net to say hello and wish you and your family a safe and happy day of celebration. I've said this before.I love today because it's a day when we are all on the same team. All of our kids are back on U.S. soil, thank goodness, and most of them are home with us. It's a rainy day in our part of the country but that won't stop us from celebrating. Before she closed up her shop. Labels: 4th of July.

Quarters One: October 2014
http://quarters1.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
My Life in the General's Quarters. October 28, 2014. A friend of mine was gracious enough to bring some bittersweet back from New York. We are smack in the middle of autumn! I think I totally skipped the season last year because we were in a tiny apartment and all of my decorations, along with my motivation, were packed away in storage. This year is so different! So many things to be thankful for and so much to enjoy! I don't change too much around just a touch here and there. Less is more! Hostess gifts...

Quarters One: Blooming Where You're Planted
http://quarters1.blogspot.com/2015/05/blooming-where-youre-planted.html
My Life in the General's Quarters. May 10, 2015. Blooming Where You're Planted. It's a beautiful spring in the neighborhood! Finally, aahh choo.excuse me. Finally, we have some warm weather and bright colors! One of the things I love about living in military quarters is that you never know what you're going to find growing (or buried) in the garden. Especially your first year, it's always a surprise. Azaleas, hydrangeas, lavender, strawberries, mint, mint and more mint.mojitos anyone? Yep, that's right, ...

My Life in the General's Quarters. July 23, 2015. Here's What I Think About. Sitting or Standing. I check in on a senior commanders' spouses forum every now and then to see what people are buzzing about and one question posed recently was,. Do I sit or stand when receiving flowers at my spouses' change of command? Yep, do what makes you feel comfortable, there, I said it again. You don't want to stand? You want to stand? Seriously, who cares? Plus, there was this one time. July 13, 2015. If you missed my...
