Monday, August 15, 2011. While I was at Kelli's, Dad and the boys tore up the carpet in our bedroom, painted the walls,and put down this beautiful new flooring. It looks absolutely marvelous and we love it! Not only did they do the bedroom, but the hallway to our bathroom and down to the kitchen, and then they put new flooring into the kitchen, too! They painted the woodwork, doors, etc in our room, white and well, I cannot say enough in gratitude to the fellas! Wow,it looks amazing! What I've been up to.

Saturday, August 22, 2009. Canning Pinto Beans With Sausage. No BBQ is complete at our house without some pinto beans. During deer season we brine and smoke the hocks for use in a pot of beans.it's better than salt pork or bacon! I can the seasoned beans with smoked sausage and onion for a quick side dish. To do this you will need:. 7 wide mouth quart jars, with lids and rings. 5 pounds of dried pinto beans. 2 smoked venison hocks. 3 pounds smoked sausage (such as kielbasa). 1 large onion, chopped.

Monday, December 31, 2012. 4 quarts chicken stock (any good meat stock will do). 3 cups dried mushrooms. 4 shallots or 1 small mild onion, finely diced. 1/2 cup cold milk. 6 T Clear Jel. Bring 1 quart of the chicken broth to a boil, and pour over 1 cup of the dried mushrooms. Allow it to sit for 1 hour to rehydrate the mushrooms. Finely chop the remaining 2 cups of mushrooms in the food processor. . Mix the clear jel with the milk, and add to the soup mixture. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sunday, July 26, 2009. Chicken Fajita in a Jar. Chicken Fajita in a Jar. 5# boneless skinless chicken breasts. 4 large bell peppers. Wash 9 pint jars, then arrange on a roasting pan and place into a 250º oven. Bring a small pan of water to a boil, then remove from heat. Place 9 lids into the pan of water and leave until ready to cap the jars. Pressure can for 90 minutes at 10#. Sunday, July 12, 2009. 5 cups Strawberries, crushed. 4 T Lemon Juice. 1 large can Crushed Pineapple (20 oz). 2 T Vanilla extract.

Monday, August 15, 2011. I had a great time visiting with Kelli, Aaron and the boys. I am always amazed at how kids grow so much, even our grown kids, if that makes any sense. It was wonderful seeing how Kelli works with the boys. The weather was beautiful and the boys had to make sure I saw everything. Here is Adam picking the grapes- yummy. Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Frogs , fun, fun, fun. We have two of these wheels. One attaches the spring clothes pin to the correct color and shape and the other the correct numbers with the number of numbers. Cooper and Sammy liked this activity and Cooper was a big help for Sam. Avery likes to pick a card and then punch the plastic pegs into the board. She has succeeded with the number four. Brook likes to string the bears. They each had their own character, don't you think? And in one we put alka seltzer.

Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Well I got the first of my shots this morning at the doctor's, so I guess that we are really getting ready for our mission! I go to the dentist tomorrow for xrays and cleaning, then on the 15th to get a physical! Will keep you all posted on that matter!
