Queen Victoria Museum, Salisbury, Rhodesia. Old, behind-the-scenes photos. Attention to detail is a characteristic of all of Chas Little’s work. The dioramas he created were intended to illustrate various human activities. Therefore not only were they required to have structural integrity, but aesthetic and historical integrity also. In order to ensure that the poses and settings were believable, Charles undertook studies. Some of these made their way into displays as stand-alone props.

The Queen Victoria Museum, Salisbury, Rhodesia was the forerunner of the present day Zimbabwe Museum of Human Sciences, Harare. During the 1960s the Museum moved to new premises. The artist commissioned to sculpt the portrait bust of Queen Victoria for the Museum was also hired to sculpt figures for the dioramas on display.
