In January 2005, Bayview community agencies, City agencies, and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) came together to develop the Third Street Work Plan. A blueprint aimed at directing public and private investment both money and time toward the goal of creating a vital, thriving, and self-sustaining commercial district on Third Street that provides jobs, shops, places to gather, and cultural amenities to the Bayview community.
