A Life on Fire: Joy to the World...
http://cyndieslifeonfire.blogspot.com/2010/12/joy-to-world.html
Saturday, December 25, 2010. Joy to the World. And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria .). And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord...

A Life on Fire: January 2010
http://cyndieslifeonfire.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 21, 2010. In a Moment of PURE INSANITY. I don't know what I was thinking, beyond "I WANT THIS CARPET GONE. and I want it gone RIGHT NOW! So I ripped it out, and tossed it out into the back yard. Wednesday, January 20, 2010. I don't know what I'm doing. Not a wife, not as a mom, not as a friend, not as a neighbor, not as an artist or a businesswoman, and not as a 40-something woman on the planet. Or "You always know the right thing to do/say.". No, of course not! At least, it hasn't yet!

Poems, lyrics, snippets and musings. Thursday, March 30, 2006. Gearing up for Fast Day 06. Two readings for Fast Day, which I'm celebrating next Thursday (4/6):. In March of 1863, Senator James Harlan of Iowa introduced a resolution asking President Lincoln to proclaim a national day of prayer and fasting. The resolution passed, and Lincoln did sign it. The following is excerpted from that proclamation:. Give up the world; give up self; finally, give up God. Find god in rhododendrons and rocks,. Interdep...

A Life on Fire: January 2009
http://cyndieslifeonfire.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 29, 2009. I think it's an awesome concept! So, what's in my space this Thursday? Susie Noland is such a close friend to me that I really think of her more as a bonus sister. I adore her! I couldn't possibly do without her in my life. She's brilliant, funny, loving, generous and absolutely count-on-able in every way. She's also an artist with a special gift. Susie creates the sexiest fingernails I have ever seen, and she creates them on the ends of MY fingers! I remember thinking, "WHAT?

Taupo – The Heart of North Island — David Goes Kiwi
http://kiwi.raptitude.com/taupo-the-heart-of-north-island
A Canadian on a working holiday in New Zealand. Taupo – The Heart of North Island. December 13, 2009. Lake Taupo, actually the crater of an immense volcanic explosion 1800 years ago. Taupo is a gorgeous lakeside town, and the weather has been spectacular the whole time I’ve been here. Clear, blue, sunny and about 25 degrees Celsius. Today is the first cloudy day, but it’s still comfortable and warm enough. Puffins on the pier. A hot-water stream pouring into the Waikato. The rapids leading up to Huka Fal...

Ko Phi Phi: Paradise for Sale, While Supplies Last — David Goes Kiwi
http://kiwi.raptitude.com/ko-phi-phi-paradise-for-sale-while-supplies-last
A Canadian on a working holiday in New Zealand. Ko Phi Phi: Paradise for Sale, While Supplies Last. November 17, 2009. Best known as the site of Leonardo DiCaprio’s bizarre meltdown in Danny Boyle’s celebrated failure,. Ko Phi Phi is an island of uncanny natural beauty and now, an exceptionally ugly culture of overdevelopment. Other travelers told me not to come here on account of the overbearing crowds, and though I’m glad I did, I understand their reservations. As an example, Chiang Mai’s grand a...

the yes church: October 2005
http://theyeschurch.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Poems, lyrics, snippets and musings. Sunday, October 30, 2005. Have you ever been *experienced*? This book sounds really interesting. Submitted for your approval, a question:. What *does* it mean to live in an environment where "grace is not just a theological concept, but an experience: an environment where [the sacred] does not have to be proved, but recognized as deeply involved in the process of the world, its sufferings and its possibilities? So may we be,. A review by John Habgood. One of our (rela...
