Smells Like Bacon: Chapter Eight: Podcasting and the Importance of Audience

http://smellslikeabacon.blogspot.com/2009/05/chapter-eight-more-attempts-at.html

A chronical of the doings of the Bacon household (and temporary home for EDTP 504 work). Wednesday, May 20, 2009. Chapter Eight: Podcasting and the Importance of Audience. I think podcasting and screencasting may be my favorite thing I've learned in this class. The possibilities for its use in the classroom are so varied! With having an audience twenty-four/seven? And if we are, how did we get to this point? I'm trying to figure out if I think its a good thing that these technologies exist or not. Or...

http://smellslikeabacon.blogspot.com/2009/05/autobio-update.html

A chronical of the doings of the Bacon household (and temporary home for EDTP 504 work). Saturday, May 23, 2009. I failed Biology twice in college getting my bachelor's degree. I was an English major and not so good with science. I waited until my last semester in college to take the class. And I failed so couldn't graduate. Then I failed it again and didn't graduate. But I can certainly use the web to see how others interpret the story and share my own thoughts on Mr. Micawber and Uriah Heep. I was sing...

A chronical of the doings of the Bacon household (and temporary home for EDTP 504 work). Friday, May 22, 2009. So, I have already acknowledged an innate distrust of technology. I feel like us humans get greedy and take things too far. Why do things have to move so fast? I'll be honest. The fact is, I don't really. I've enjoyed reading your posts, Amber. It's interesting to be able to get the reader's perspective on something you've written. Thanks again for the honest reflection. May 22, 2009 at 2:22 PM.

Chlodys and the Great Technology Adventure: May 2009

Sunday, May 24, 2009. Technology Autobiography 2.0 (A cheesy way of saying the updated version). I spoke about the course quite a bit (and positively too) which took him by surprise. He knows I am generally happier on a 5-day backpacking trip miles from civilization than in front of a computer…which isn’t the case for with him. In his bewilderment, he asked “Can you tell me why you liked the course? A Note to the Administration (choose your tool). Not only is this tool great for the students but I can al...

questionsforscience | stuff i haven't figured out yet

Stuff i haven't figured out yet. February 25, 2013. I was looking at some close up pictures I had taken of insects, and noticed that the wings, while they always had a strong, smooth line on their front edge, they (almost). Always had uneven or outright jagged back edges. Often they are damaged, but even when they are not the back edge of an insect wing is almost never a single smooth line. Does a serrated rear edge reduce drag, or does it provide stability? Or is this just confirmation bias on my part?
