We are moving on today and leaving Mike and Kathy so we invited them to the boat for our farewell breakfast. We have so enjoyed traveling with them these past few weeks and will miss their company. We left Grafton at 8:30 am and headed for Hoppies marina some 60 miles away. Mississippi River (left) and Illinois River (right). House on the Hill.

Quest on the Loop. Saturday, September 1, 2012. Starved Rock Marina, Ottawa, IL - 8/31/12. We left our FREE dock at Joliet along with Queen Kathleen and Gold Leaf to make the 8:30 bridge opening just a short distance away. Our goal today is Ottawa, 53 miles away,where they also have a free city dock. Shortly after the bridge we entered our 3rd lock since leaving Chicago. We are now in the Des Plaines River which will be joined by the Illinois River later today then on to the Mississippi. They get hot too!
