We got there on a lucky day, because they happened to have a fair-type thing going on. The kids listening to a lady tell them about mastodon teeth. Digging for dinosaur bones. Talking to a real paleontologist. The museum had a lab in the back; he was cleaning the bones. Didn’t catch his name…but he looks like an allosaurus. Questions ...

Maybe it helps that we first visited in Spring, while the wisteria was blooming. There's a lake, too. A beautiful, rippling lake. Meet Ping and Pip! These two little duckings were just added to a friend’s homestead. Once grown, they’ll get to hang out with her small flock of happy chickens, but in the meantime they’re the epitome of adorableness with their yellow fuzz and friendly curiosity about everything.
