Musings of a Displaced Yankee

Musings of a Displaced Yankee. Sunday, 28 June 2015. Greece, Part The Third. We boarded the Odysseus. And sailed to Oia, the romantic little town perched on Santorini's caldera, where some tourists departed to see the sunset. I enjoyed sailing the length of the caldera, seeing the white buildings clinging like barnacles to the lip of the cliff, a real testament to human tenacity. I didn't expect them to put us on the same mule. What an animal! In the morning, we familiarized ourselves with the local area...

Musings of a Displaced Yankee: Wales

http://www.quillpenlondon.blogspot.com/2015/05/wales.html

Musings of a Displaced Yankee. Saturday, 16 May 2015. We went to Wales last week with some friends. Going to slap up a few pics and a quick write-up while I have a small window of time. Our first stop was Weston-super-mare, a little town on England's east coast. We stayed the night and had a quick visit to the beach. Our hotel had a pool and a sauna. Honestly, we could probably have skipped this step (and saved money) but it was fun to do. It wouldn't be England without gray skies! Our next stop was Blue...

Musings of a Displaced Yankee. Monday, 12 May 2014. I'm on a roll, so I might as well keep going. Yeah, it says minimum age 6 years, but E crossed it just fine. And he didn't get wet. This was part of the smaller, initial playground next to the station where we caught the steam train. Cousins and children and dog all waiting to board. E enjoyed watching the locomotive on the turntable. Found out later that the guy driving the engine was the owner of the place. Little Red Riding C getting a hole in 20.

Musings of a Displaced Yankee: December 2014

Musings of a Displaced Yankee. Thursday, 25 December 2014. Winter 2014 (So Far). So, following on from last post. NaNoWriMo happened in November, and I wound up writing 43,000 words in a month. Not too shabby. We're in a decent routine that gives me some free time in the morning before I collect C from her nursery (which she goes to from 9-12). C had her 4th birthday. Dined out on pizza in Highgate. The track's slightly the wrong way around but that was quickly rectified by a kind uncle.). I moved from s...

Musings of a Displaced Yankee. Wednesday, 1 January 2014. No," she said, "I eat your mouth, so it stop talking.". She loves her brother, and tries to boss him around. Sometimes she's successful. When they play together, it's awesome. As for E. he's so much fun to have around! E is in Year 1 now and has really found his stride in school. He's popular with other children but he isn't afraid to march to the beat of his own drummer. He's got his own sense of what's important in life. 2013's been a good year.
