http://www.quiltedbyholly.com/2014

Sunday, September 28, 2014. Halloween Embroidery Wall Hanging - Custom quilted. Just finished quilting this gorgeous wall hanging for Andi. She took a class on how to color on fabric with crayons with embroidery and made this lovely pattern. I personally love embroidery so this was fun to quilt. The outer border is quilted with spiderwebs (harder to see in the photos). Pattern by: Meg Hawkeye of Crabapple Hill Studio. Pattern: Which Witch's Boot. Design from the back. Custom quilting - swirls, wishbones.

http://www.quiltedbyholly.com/2014/01

Tuesday, January 28, 2014. I am a longarm quilter. It is true. It is official. I am a longarm quilter! Last October I finally bought my longarm machine, an Avante by Handi-quilter. It was a choice I debated over for a while.and the machine finally just jumped into my tiny car and said "take me home"! Well, not exactly but it did come home with me and I am happy to announce I have been using it a lot! And so this starts the quilting adventure. Can't wait to show you photos! http://www.quiltedbyholly.com/2014/03

Monday, March 31, 2014. This quilt is gorgeous. If you hurry you may still be able to see it in the display window at Stash. Kathy made this quilt with "Glitz" by Michael Miller. I quilted it with a "Curly Q" pantograph. Practicing my custom quilting. It takes time to develop a quality custom/free-motion type of quilting. I love seeing all the gorgeous quilts being quilted and admire the talent. I know the more I quilt the better I will get. Practice practice practice…! My niece turned 4 recently. I love...

We are not alone. S far back as I can remember I was always sewing something. I think I was born with “busy hands”. So it was inevitable that over time I would find my way to quilt making. Quilting is traditionally defined as two layers of fabric with a layer of batting between them and then stitched together by needle and thread. Thus by definition, I create traditional quilts. Yet rather than serving a traditional function, they are designed simply for their artistic and visual pleasure.
