Ceramics and Mosaic in the Garden. I’ll do it at some point. The book is here! March 15, 2010. Still playing around with the backgrounds on calla tiles. This one has majolica colors over the white flowers and a majolica wash over the layers of glazes on the background. Kyla is always really busy with school, work and everything else she does, so was the poor bunny never getting to come out of his cage? This entry was posted in ceramics. I’ll do it at some point. The book is here! March 15, 2010 at 7:48 am.

Interpret This!: What a challenge--jdemilo
http://photothreads.blogspot.com/2011/01/what-challenge-jdemilo.html
Sunday, January 30, 2011. What a challenge- jdemilo. Is where you can see the monthly efforts. I was also hoping in this challenge to develop my unique voice in surface design style and I think that I did that. The style is best portrayed in Garden of Eden. The style includes using my own fabric and handwork. There is nothing more exciting than to look at a quilt and knowing that it was just plain white fabric before you started! Here is Garden of Eden as it was shown at the Reveal. This is a great piece...

Interpret This!: The Bridge - Barbara
http://photothreads.blogspot.com/2011/01/bridge-barbara.html
Sunday, January 30, 2011. The Bridge - Barbara. Designed, Raw edged fused applique, Shiva paint sticks. I chose "The Bridge" as the one piece I learned the most from creating and because it was my first attempt at doing a architectural scene. I found it daunting to start with but at the same time loved it. Once I got the first few structures up it just started flowing and became easier and easier. See all my work in my. http://judyhartman.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 22, 2014. Is anyone finding, as I am, that November is slipping by very quickly? Where do the days go? I'm doing some new work, but here are a few more photos of the pieces I completed recently for an artisan show. My photos are not great - sorry! This picture is mounted on white linen and. Is made with fabric, hand embroidery, beading, trims and machine stitching. This little tree sold quickly. I used similar materials on it,. With the addition of painted green lace in the foreground.

Judy Hartman : October 2014
http://judyhartman.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 24, 2014. I'm still working away on pieces for the artisan show I'll be part of next weekend, but for now I wanted to show some photos of the "Drawing With Stitches" class I'm taking right now. We've learned a few hand embroidery stitches and each person is working on a project of her choice. This blackwork piece is being done by our instructor, Amy Ropple. Freehand, with no pattern. Beautiful! Two people, AnnMarie and Amy, are making designs using only French knots. Hopefully my system w...

Saturday, July 26, 2014. ATCs From a Friend. I want to share some wonderful ATCs made by my dear friend, Elaine. I was so thrilled when they arrived in my mailbox! I love the way Elaine combines silhouettes with color,. And creates such natural scenes. Having two cats, I can identify with their antics. In the first three images! And I imagine the lady in the fourth one asking,. What do you think of this combination? Elaine is the mother of my friend Karen, another talented artist,. Tuesday, July 22, 2014.

Judy Hartman : July 2015

Tuesday, July 28, 2015. I finished up this drawing today, enjoying the process and not worrying about the results. I used Micron pens, extra-fine Sharpies and watercolor pencils. This reminds me of Rosie, who tries to eat flowers. Looks like she is resting in a potential salad of blossoms! Yes, I keep flowers away from her! Hope you are having a great week!
