Thursday, 24 May 2012. At the weekend I was lucky enough to attend a Cathedral Windows Workshop at Moonie . which is just up the road . well 60kms up the road. The tutor was the very clever Bev McClune . Bev's Cathedral Window's Quilt. Yes, this looks complicated . but, is so cleverly put together . and beautifully romantic . I can see this beautiful quilt on a bed . sorry the photo is only a portion of the quilt as it was drapped over the bar and I cropped the photo . :-) . Now to sew a few more squares .

Tuesday, August 25, 2009. A bee in my bonnet. I'm not going to go into specifics because I don't want to offend anyone, but I do want to write about this anyway because it is really important to me. I hope this comes across the right way! There's a certain product that hundreds of people make and sell and some of them do very well with, but very few of these products are made 'properly' *. Tonight I decided why, and I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. One of those days. There's no reason fo...

Needle vs Thread (old): What I am not...

Sunday, July 25, 2010. What I am not. I have a baby niece due any day now, so I got it into my head that I wanted to make her a quilt. I've made one before (although I didn't quite finish it) so I should have known this would be hard work. Backing it with dot minky (stretchy and slippery), didn't make the job easier! I love the outcome though! The prints are from the "What a Hoot" collection by Camelot Cottons. July 25, 2010 at 11:19 PM. Vintage Sew and So. July 26, 2010 at 1:13 PM. My New Etsy Store.

Saturday, February 13, 2010. Apologies again for my absence! I would like to blame it on the curse that seems to have been placed on me. The one that involves one thing after another going wrong. One of the latest is that I managed to kill my computer almost two weeks ago. I don't recommend doing this because getting a new one is an expensive pain in the bum. Shiny new computers are supposed to be exciting. This one is lucky it hasn't been thrown out the window. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Tuesday, November 3, 2009. I'm a guest curator! This is so exciting for me! I'm a guest curator at Etsy Stalker. The lovely ladies asked me a few weeks ago if I would like to curate a Spring Bags and Purses Exhibit and I jumped at the chance. It was a really interesting challenge. I had some very specific criteria in my head, so that helped narrow the list down, but it was still difficult to choose from all the beautiful work on Etsy. I hope you go and visit the exhibit. And enjoy my choices!

Friday, September 25, 2009. Exhausted but very happy. I just not long ago got home from setting up the exhibition. The hall looks amazing! So much beautiful stuff. It was hard to imagine until it was done, but it's fantastic. Here's hoping all the people who said they would come, do! For all the help with! Thursday, September 24, 2009. This time tomorrow, I'm hoping to be finished setting up my display at the Mountain Makers exhibition. As much as you can ever be finished getting ready for these things!

Thursday, January 27, 2011. I have a new blog! Please visit and follow it over here: Needle vs Thread. I will be posting from there now on! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Needle vs Thread is all about beautiful and practical bags, purses, homewares and accessories made by a girl who is just a little bit pedantic about making sure things are top-stitched, sewn straight, reinforced, centered, spaced evenly, and as perfect as she can get them!
