The Inner Banks, cultural vacuum

The Inner Banks, cultural vacuum. Trying to be a Renaissance gal in the middle of nowhere. Wednesday, January 26, 2011. A Tunisian Crochet pattern. I used less than 1 skein Cotton Maid Cotton 8 (DK weight) and a 10" Tunisian size H hook. My finished square is about 9.5". Your square will be bigger (about 12") if you use worsted weight yarn. I would suggest a 12" or 14" I hook with worsted. Tss2tog: Insert hook under front of next two. YO, draw loop through both sts. Repeat Return Pass after each row.

The Inner Banks, cultural vacuum. Trying to be a Renaissance gal in the middle of nowhere. Monday, March 29, 2010. A BETTER SHORT ROW HEEL. I've found this method better for avoiding "holes" in the heels of crocheted socks. QUILT FINISHES - OR HOW I LEARNED TO USE WHAT I HAVE AND MAKE DO

QUILT FINISHES - OR HOW I LEARNED TO USE WHAT I HAVE AND MAKE DO. A blog about using my stash of fabric, using my own patterns, and making do with what I have. My Grandmother's Choice Blocks. 12 Days of Christmas. Sunday, December 7, 2014. I've been lax in posting on this blog. Not that I haven't finished quilts, because I have. I've concentrated on my blog HandPiecing. Here are some of the quilts I've finished in the last few months. Prairie Women Project Vase and Flower. Back of Vase and Flower. Anothe...

Sunday, April 6, 2014. It's been a while! It has been a long time since I posted a blog! I got to meet a lot of my quilting celebrities that I think are awesome, including Camille Roskelley:. And I met Tula Pink:. These are the girls that I worked with in the booth at Quilt festival. Houston was fun to visit, I have a friend who lives there so I got to visit her and see some sights including going to an alligator and wild animal rescue park. Saturday, 11 October 2014. I do like a bit of straight line quilting! Tuesday, 16 September 2014. Not a bad collection of tomatoes from the garden this year. Don't they look pretty, all those beautiful colours. We had far more than we could possibly eat, so we decided to roast them up in the oven, and then freeze them. This was our first year doing tomatoes, and it was such a success that we are looking forward to having another go next year. Tuesday, 9 September 2014. English paper piecing - cheats way!

Quilt Flap

This blog is for and about vintage and antique quilts and the folks who love them. We get together and show our quilts. Hence the term 'quilt flap,' as in, drag-n-brag or show-n-tell. Starting in coastal North Carolina, a region of the American South with lots of history and mosquitoes, we hope other people will join us as we search out textile treasures and share them on this blog. Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Time for Another Quilt Flap! If I was a rooster, I'd crow about it! Detritus once the maker had pa...

A Portfolio of my Quilts. Thursday, July 30, 2015. Entry 17: Baby Madison. Baby Madison is my first commissioned quilt and I have to admit, being paid to quilt is way more stressful than when I am quilting for my own pleasure and gift giving. It was very enjoyable and my friend Tabatha and I had so much fun selecting the fabric.but I guess I was a bit nervous. Anyway, here it is:. The block is called "double pinwheels" from the quilt pattern in this magazine. I think pink and green makes sweet baby quilt!
