Quiltification

Thursday, 2 July 2015. It's been a long time since I posted anything about our house renovation. We don't tend to move very quickly with renovating - taking our time to come to a decision that we will both love (no easy feat) and then tracking down all the bits we need. Quiltification: Off the Rails!

http://quiltification.blogspot.com/2010/12/off-rails.html

Thursday, 9 December 2010. Off the Rails is the name of my new quilt. See more photos of my finished version. Before that, I promised you a quilt pattern so here it is. Off the Rails quilt pattern. 1 Cut each 2½” strip into three, to give three pieces each 2½” wide by approximately 14” long. 2 In order to stay organised while you are sewing the blocks, make two piles. On Pile A, place two identical 2½” x 14” strips, and put the remaining strip on Pile B. 3 Repeat steps 1 and 2 for all 40 strips. 7 Sew th...

Quiltification: May blocks

http://quiltification.blogspot.com/2015/05/may-blocks.html

Tuesday, 19 May 2015. For May, members of the Comfort Circle of Do Good Stitches. Were asked to make blue and white churn dash blocks in a variety of sizes. Here are my 12", 9" and 6" blocks finished and ready to send off. The other bee that I am member of is the Siblings Together Bee 2. This month, Catrin asked us to make a couple of her double heart blocks. I enjoyed this so much that I made an extra block. I may have to make even more for a whole quilt at some point in the future! Quiltification: November 2013

http://quiltification.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, 21 November 2013. A few days after Mr Q and I got married, we went to the Freshfields Animal Centre north of Liverpool to find a couple of new additions for our family. We came away with Bonnie and Mr George - two beautiful black and white cats. For the last seven years, the four of us have lived together happily with plenty of love, laughter and quite a bit of attitude. You will leave a large cat-shaped hole in our lives, Georgie boy. We will miss you immeasurably. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Quiltification: Magic Maze

http://quiltification.blogspot.com/2015/03/magic-maze.html

Wednesday, 18 March 2015. A couple of years ago, my mum gave me a quilting calendar for Christmas. Before the new year arrived, I had already put together a quilt top using one of the patterns - Magic Maze by Amy Ellis. It took me a long while to decide how to quilt it. I wanted something that wouldn't detract from the simplicity of the quilt design, but that also challenged my quilting skills. I sketched a number of different quilting schemes. And finally settled on this. 19 March 2015 at 09:32. Off the...

Modern Quilts and Life. A Temperance Quilt Top. August 12, 2015. Recently, I’ve opened my Etsy shop up to finishing antique quilts. Because of the generosity of my family members,. I have had the opportunity to finish several antique tops,. Taking them from bits of fabric to finished quilts! While perusing Ebay for other antique tops that were affordable,. I came across this beauty. I am not yet a fabric or pattern dating expert,. But I do know this T block was made often during prohibition,. That makes ...

Adding a little of the bright wonky stripe fabric gave this first quilt a little pizazz and made it fun to piece. Its hard to tell unless you zoom in on the second quilt, but I added an eco-friendly print for borders and a bit of bright yellow to make this green quilt a "green" quilt. 0 more bits of the conversation. Longarm Quilting Services/Custom Quilts. August 12, 2015. The Daily Press’s weekly word challenge is: Beneath your feet. Well, under B’s feet, actually. Imagine the years of monks stepping over these stones from Bolton Abbey. I, on the other hand, carried the camera equipment over the bridge. Would you have removed the sign from this picture? I like the pop of color, but it is rather incongruous. I am so into walkways, it is hard to pick one spot under my feet. Here I am in Sodermalm. August 10, 2015.
