Paper Piecing Using Freezer Paper Templates. I love paper-piecing. I like the precise points and seams that align. What I hate about paper-piecing is tearing the paper foundation off the back of the block when it is finished…pulling tiny bits of paper out of stitches, hoping the seams will hold. I have provided a PDF pattern for the block “Woven Star.” This pattern is for a 10 inch block. You can download the PDF here. The first step when doing any kind of paper-piecing is to measure the individual areas...

April 3, 2015. Reviewing "The Beekeeper's Son". The Beekeeper's Son" by Kelly Irvin is a wonderful Amish Romance novel filled with suspense and drama. As you know from reading my other reviews, I am an admirer of Amish fiction. This book takes it to a whole new level to the point that I can't wait to read the rest of this new series. Kelly Irvin has clearly outdone herself and gained a fan. Disclaimer: I received this book for free from Booklook Bloggers in exchange for an honest review. DIY Vinyl Hair B...

Calculating Side and Corner Triangles. Setting quilt blocks on point in a diagonal setting creates triangular spaces on the edges and in the corners that need to be filled in to make the quilt square. Use these simple calculations to determine what size triangles to cut for those spaces. Lay the quilt blocks out on the floor, or put them on a design wall, arranged in the desired diagonal setting. Count how many side triangles are necessary. Do not include the corners. The total number of triangles = (a).

http://www.dawnsquiltcorner.com/2015/04/reviewing-snuggle-time-devotions.html
April 4, 2015. Reviewing "Snuggle Time Devotions". Snuggle Time Devotions that end with a hug! Is a cute devotional book for kids with adorable illustrations and short daily devotions. Each day has an overall theme, a Bible verse, a rhyming story to accompany the verse, a "takeaway" section to examine what we have learned, an activity to go along with it, and a hug to complete the devotional time. Dawn's Quilt Corner: Reviewing "Like a Flower in Bloom"

April 3, 2015. Reviewing "Like a Flower in Bloom". I would recommend this book to people who enjoy the Victorian Era and have a fondness for plants and botany. There is a lot of scientific language in the book so if you want to learn a bit about botany, here's your chance! The characters are also very likable and there is a lot of humor in the book which keeps the story entertaining. March 26, 2010. How to wrap gifts with fabric. Do you have a large stash of quilting fabric sitting in your closet? I've recently discovered a wonderful way to use some of it! I think part of the fun of giving a gift, is presenting it to the person in a beautiful way. And what better way to wrap a gift for a crafty sewing person, than with fabric! Note: Non crafting sewing people will also appreciate the beauty of a gift wrapped in fabric. Fold the fabric in half to cover the item. How to Frame Fabric.
