Dyeing the washing line – Cotton Feathered
https://cottonfeathered.wordpress.com/2015/10/02/dyeing-the-washing-line
Dyeing the washing line. October 2, 2015. Decorating is nearly finished so I should have more time for crafting soon. I’m going to catch up posting the projects I’ve been working on over the summer. First bowl in progress slowed down by Meggett running off with the washing line and fabric but now finished. How can I fail to have fun with these. All a bit of a mess but I had a go and am looking forward to the workshop. Must be my marbles going. And my quilts. So just summer to make and exchange after ...

Postcard Edging Tutorial – Cotton Feathered
https://cottonfeathered.wordpress.com/postcard-edging-tutorial
I’ve belong to a Facebook group that swaps fabric postcards each month and have been asked how I do the edging on my cards. The technique was taught by Carol Ann Waugh in the Craftsy Class Stupendous Stitching. Unlike Carol who used rat tail cord I use dyed egyptian cotton bias ribbon from ‘Images of Egypt’ – Kirdassa@kirdassa.karoo.co.uk. Or sari silk ribbon from various suppliers. Any yarn or embellishing trim could be used for the technique given below. Postcard edged with Sari Silk. I also use this t...

Last flowers of summer – Cotton Feathered
https://cottonfeathered.wordpress.com/2015/10/15/last-flowers-of-summer
Last flowers of summer. October 15, 2015. October 15, 2015. I did feel guilty picking flowers from the few that are left in the garden for this postcard. Layered, quilted, backed and hey presto a postcard winging it’s way to Oregon. I wonder if customs will recognise them as real flowers. The images can be clicked to enlarge. I love this quilt. It’s been therapeutic making it, you lose yourself from the world whilst playing with fabric. I hope everyone has a hobby that does this for them. Absolutely love...
