Mixing up a Quiltsalad

Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Here are some recent quilts, just can't seem to stop this quilting thing.but then why would I want to? Monday, July 6, 2009. The Tale of the Higgly Piggly Quilt. The first step is to cut 7 inch squares (in this case these were pre-cut squares from Hoffman) but I also cut 7 inch squares of the print as well. The Quilt is 5 blocks across and 6 blocks down and if you use this size then you would need an even number of the two styles of blocks. I'm sur...

Mixing up a Quiltsalad: April 2008

http://quiltsaladspeak.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Creating Quilts and Food. I spent the day playing with a pile of batik, lovely way to pass the day, sorting and trying to see what might make and interesting combo. Wanting to do a Bento Box quilt next. Sort of like picking out ingredients for a delicious quilt salad! Labels: Two dinners at one time. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Mixing up a Quiltsalad. Ramblings of a fabric lover who likes photography, her computer and cooking almost as much as she likes to quilt.

Mixing up a Quiltsalad: February 2009

http://quiltsaladspeak.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 22, 2009. My daughter approached me with the idea that she and another mother had for the 2 nd. Grade 2008-2009" which gave me 20 blocks to play with. And the border, backing and binding. All batik's of course. One of the teachers when she saw the quilt finished said, "In all my years at Ashbrook. I've seen a lot of class projects come and go but this has to be the most beautiful quilted one." So I think we did well. Monday, February 16, 2009. Busy but rewarding week! I like to think tha...

Mixing up a Quiltsalad: January 2009

http://quiltsaladspeak.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Never too old for something new.we'll see! I started this blog last spring and then had knee surgery and spent the most of May, June and July stumping around the house grumbling and groaning and not even comfortable enough to sit at my computer and so was relegated to using my lap top most of the time which I really don't like as much for extended typing. (That's my story, read excuse, and I'm sticking to it! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Mixing up a Quiltsalad.

Mixing up a Quiltsalad: July 2009

http://quiltsaladspeak.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Monday, July 6, 2009. The Tale of the Higgly Piggly Quilt. The first step is to cut 7 inch squares (in this case these were pre-cut squares from Hoffman) but I also cut 7 inch squares of the print as well. Take the 12 inch square and cut the square in 1/2 and 1/2 again so that you have 4 six inch squares. Then you can arrange these 4 squares to form 2 patterns which can be repeated in random colorways. The Quilt is 5 blocks across and 6 blocks down and if you use this size then you would need an even num...

Quilts Ahoy

Sunday, October 12, 2014. It's been a while since I last posted and thought it's about time to catch things up! First, I had two quilts accepted into Houston. Samson and Delilah and Petit Plume are hanging proudly. Although they didn't win a prize I'm extremely thrilled to have not one but two quilts hanging in the show! For those who don't know, Houston is the World's Fair of the quilt world. Just to have a quilt accepted into the show is a great honor. I'll be working at Meander Publishing, booth numbe...
