Quiltsalott

Foundation paper piecing, pickle dish. Thursday, February 19, 2015. Fussy cutting for Applique. I can't believe this is my first post of the year even though we're well in to February. How time flies but then I've also had a bad start to the year with a few lemons thrown my way. Enough said on that! I thought I'd show how I've been working slowly on my Baltimore quilt and fussy cutting for leaves. I managed to join two borders onto the top and finish one corner. I'm going to concentrate on getting this t...

Quiltsalott: February 2014

http://quiltsalott.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Foundation paper piecing, pickle dish. Wednesday, February 19, 2014. One finished and one started. When the mum of our new grandson asked me to make a quilt for him, I held my breath wondering what she would ask for. Lucky for me she had a photo and it was going to be a quick no fuss one that would fit into the nursery. My friend and I went to Quiltsmith. I wanted something quick and easy so what's better than going back to basics with squares? Until next time, Janet. Labels: big stitch quilting. If you'...

Quiltsalott: A little Christmas project

http://quiltsalott.blogspot.com/2014/12/a-little-christmas-project.html

Foundation paper piecing, pickle dish. Friday, December 12, 2014. A little Christmas project. I couldn't resist adding this picture of Tully photo bombing. We are looking after her for a year for a family that moved interstate. That year is almost up and I don't think we'll give her back. We haven't heard for certain yet if we can keep her but it's on the cards. This year I made them three birds each, they're so cute and look like doves to me. The pattern is from Jody"s Crafty Creations. Back soon, Janet.

Quiltsalott: Origami pouch tutorial

http://quiltsalott.blogspot.com/2009/01/origami-pouch-tutorial.html

Foundation paper piecing, pickle dish. Saturday, January 17, 2009. Remember the small pouches. I made as gifts before Christmas? They are really useful because they have a pocket on both sides of the outside. It was suggested that I do a tutorial on making them so here goes. Let me know if I make a blooper in the instructions. This is a photo heavy post, you can click on most of the photos to get a close up. Turn right side out, hand sew the opening closed and press. Now take one side of the triangle and...

Quiltsalott: Little purse tutorial

http://quiltsalott.blogspot.com/2010/03/little-purse-tutorial.html

Foundation paper piecing, pickle dish. Wednesday, March 17, 2010. I've tried to be thorough in my instructions at the same time trying not to make this too photo heavy. These purses finish at around 8" wide by 4 1/2" tall. I made two at the same time so the pictures may show either one. First make a template out of cardboard by drawing two 8" diameter circles that overlap in the middle. Radius is 4" of course. Draw a line on each side to connect them and cut out. Pin one side of the zip to the bag from o...

http://mrssewnsew.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Mrs Sew n' sew. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Last post for a busy December. It's the last day of 2014 - wow! It's been a very busy but wonderful December. So in amongst all the Christmas celebrating, skiing, skating, sledding, swimming and eating I did manage to do a little sewing :0). My DH spoiled me with some new books. I've been really enjoying California Bound so far....I've ...
