Quilts are for Giving: March 2015

http://quiltsareforgiving.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Quilts are for Giving. This is a place to share about your charity quilts. Saturday, March 14, 2015. Quilts by a Group. These are community service quilts made by my local guild. They are completed or almost completed. The red/blue and yellow quilts were our 2014 blocks, and now in 2015 we are doing nine-patches, so I have only one of those samples so far. They are going to a variety of local and global donation sites. Links to this post. Friday, March 13, 2015. Links to this post. Tuesday, March 3, 2015.

Quilts are for Giving. This is a place to share about your charity quilts. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Picnic Puppies and Poppies. I want to extend a big thank you to the kind folks affiliated with Center Veterinary Clinic. In Mira Mesa (San Diego) for their fabric donations! In addition to their donated fabrics, I used scrap fabrics to create this Jean Ann Wright, Southern Comfort patterned quilt. The lavender fabric used in my Poppies quilt has now made its way into 4 charity quilts, including: Skypilots.

On May 23 I got a letter from my friend, telling me that her daughter was due to have a baby in early June. Later in the evening on May 23 I got an e-mail saying that the baby had been born on May 22. So I sat right down and made her a quilt. Will put it in the mail soon. Links to this post. Feather River Quilts: PIQF

http://featherriverquilts.blogspot.com/2013/10/piqf.html

Wednesday, October 23, 2013. This past weekend my daughter, a friend and I went to the Pacific International QuiltFestival. It was fantastic, overwhelming, too large to absorb in one day. My daughter took almost 200 photos, she usually takes a photo of the quilt, then another of the info card; so I have lots of photos to post. So here are some of the quilts we enjoyed. My heart lies in Afric, by Mandy Kirk. Nioppon Irish Chain, by Tamaris Pardo. Birch Grove, by Anne Loveless. Star Burst, by Mieke Apps.

Riding The Orphan Train. A journey into making quilts from the leftover, unwanted and without a home pieces and quilt blocks. The 4:25 pm Pacific Northwest. Departing Chicago.heading west.come ride with us. Saturday, December 6, 2014. Even on the Orphan Train, everything is not an orphan. The 5.5" fence rail blocks are a leader/ender project. It's boring. I have 52 done, do I want to go on, well? But I had a "lightbulb" moment while sewing.what if I alternate them with a "crumbs" block? I like this idea!

Quilts são eternos...

Quarta-feira, 10 de junho de 2015. Depois de algum tempinho. Volto a escrever aqui.
