Machine Blanket Stitch Applique. Some time ago I posted a tutorial on http:/ sewwequilt.com/2011/06/felted-wool-giveasway.html. Showing a fused Blanket Stitch hand applique method for working with Felted Wool. Since I have heard that many quilters are afraid to try Applique; I thought today it might be of interest to follow up with an easy fusible Blanket Stitch machine applique method. I prefer a soft fusible web such as SoftFuse or Heat. Bond Lite so that the appliques do not feel stiff or hard. Let th...

Quilts by Rhoda

This is a blog for my traditional quilts. I have way too much stash and want to bust some this year. Sunday, October 10, 2010. I worked on this quilt most of the spring and summer, when I wasn't nursing my hand or out enjoying the weather. It is large, 95x95" and fits perfectly on my queen sized bed. I love the results. Of course Maggie thinks it was made just for her. Wishing all my Canadian friends a Happy Thanksgiving, we have had the most gorgeous Fall weather! Art by Rhoda Forbes. Art by Rhoda Forbes.

Quilts By Sara - Home

Welcome to Quilts By Sara. I'm Sara Castle and quilting is my passion! A little bit about me:. I began quilting in 1996 at the age of 50. Like so many quilters, I had a huge collection of scraps that I saved from home-sewing projects. Around this time, quilt clubs, fabric stores, and books became a huge industry, and I found a local quilt club where I got a lot of advice and encouragement. Create a free website.
