Using batiks I started by creating a sunset reflecting in the sea by putting the stops together. After sewung two strips together I cut them in random places to get this random result. Quilting and other crafts I have been working on -want to work on - or just find inspiring. Back to my website. Tuesday, 2 December 2014. Quilt and appliqué wall hanging for daughters new flat. I wanted to make a housewarming gift for my daughter for her first own home. Found this idea online and sized it down to a wall hanging. I actually machine quilted it on my own machine! First I created the background patchwork I used earthy colours at ground level then green, pinkish followed by blue.

I managed to finish my first quilt quilted on my own seeing machine, my new Janome QC 6260. I used a variegated thread. I still need to get my sticking more even, but not bad. It's for my daughters friend and my daughter is over the moon. First I did in the ditch around border and the pin wheels. Then a 5 point star in each square.
