DEBORAH WEIR ••• FiberFly Textile Art: Dye Workshop at FiberFly Studios

DEBORAH WEIR ••• FiberFly Textile Art. Thursday, June 25, 2015. Dye Workshop at FiberFly Studios. Eight fabric lovers came to dye. We spent the day ice dyeing, doing low immersion dyeing and painting with thickened dye. We played with some resist techniques: clothes pins, rubber bands, folding and stitching. Lots of the fabric went home to be batched overnight so I haven't seen all the results, but here are pix of attendees busily creating! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

From Edge 2 Edge. Where fiber, paint and thread go From Edge 2 Edge. Black and White with a Twist Update. January 11, 2012. Both David and I have our Quilts on the Wall “Black and White with a Twist” quilts well underway. I find it really amazing how much you can get done in 15 minute blocks of time. David and I are both in the quilting stage and we try to work in at least 15 minutes of stitch time as soon as we get home. From → Creativity. Quilts on the Wall. Larr; Christmas Cheer. Fiber, watercolor, oil, mixed media, and other stuff! Friday, August 7, 2015. Pelican on Pier - Where the Idea Came From. This is my "Pelican on Pier" fiber art piece that I made for the Beyond the Edge. Boundless Exhibit. It is 18" wide by 36" high and mounted on a stretched canvas. The tail and part of the head/beak extend beyond the canvas. I love the presentation on the canvas. The inspiration for this piece came from a young pelican on the Balboa pier. From Edge 2 Edge. Where fiber, paint and thread go From Edge 2 Edge. October 21, 2011. I would love to say that through major investigative research I was able to brilliantly figure out the problem. But I can’t. It was that I simply missed one small but very important step in redirecting the hosting information. Now to check out all the links and one final issue:. Fiber, watercolor, oil, mixed media, and other stuff! Sunday, August 30, 2015. From Cottons to Silks. Cotton fabric is wonderful on art quilts, especially when you are painting the fabric yourself. I use it for most backgrounds and painted pieces. It gives a smooth appearance that is clean looking. But. I love using more exotic fabrics on my art quilts. Velvet, wool, raw silk, Japanese textiles, cotton. Organza, metallics, raw silk, Japanese textiles. Monday, August 24, 2015. Pattern pieces are easily ma...
