Quilt with Sandi: » Christmas Sampler

http://www.quiltwithsandi.com/quilt-project

I have always wanted to document the making of a quilt from start to finish. This Christmas Sampler Quilt is shown as each section was constructed and the quilt top was completed. I have not shown the assembly with batting, backing, and binding, leaving those steps for a future effort. I plan to document further projects as I prepare to teach them in my class at the library. For now, let’s get started by clicking: Introduction and Design. And save the file to your computer. Capricorn Theme by Shaibanii.

With the proper tools, some general knowledge of sewing, and an appropriate pattern or design, a beginner’s quilt can be completed successfully. The series presented here features projects of wall hanging or crib quilt size which showcase simple patchwork and/or applique. Projects include: Snowball & Flower Block, Disappearing 9-Patch, Appliqued Heart, and Christmas Ribbons. Let’s get started! VI Class 10-16: Seminole.

A collection of writing and photos showing a variety of skill levels, designs, and sizes of projects. This section is a work in progress, and, like many a quilt, it will never be quite finished – there will always be some additional embellishment, some new technique to learn and add. To date I have completed the articles below. Leave a Reply . only takes a second. Mail (required) (will not be published). Capricorn Theme by Shaibanii. Bull; Powered by WordPress.

Quilt with Sandi: » Why I Make Quilts

http://www.quiltwithsandi.com/why-i-make-quilts-2

Why I Make Quilts. Continued from Front Page …). Throughout my teens and early adulthood I continued to sew garments for myself and others, even for a time earning extra money by doing alterations and making bridesmaid’s gowns. And any time a gift was needed for a friend’s wedding or baby shower, I produced knitted or crocheted throws, sweaters, hats and booties. What about making a quilt so appeals to me? Finally there is the joy of seeing the finished product, the coming together of shapes and colors, ...

Quilt with Molly

Welcome to Quilt with Molly. In 1999, I first discovered quilts and quilting while attending a small guild show in Tehachapi, California. That was the moment I fell in love with quilting! I was amazed at the variety of patterns and designs and intrigued by the use of fabric, color and geometric shapes. I especially liked the appliquéd quilts. We had nothing like this in China! I hope you enjoy my quilts and thank you for visiting my web site.

QUILT WITHOUT GUILT

Quilting and other things that catch my interest. Wednesday, 1 April 2015. Yesterday was the reveal day for our latest challenge, the theme was 'In the Garden'. When I placed my folded flowers onto the background it brought to mind my grandfather's garden, it always contained rows of colourful flowers around the fence line - roses, sun flowers, tiger lillies, anything tall and colourful with rows of pansies, petunias, snap dragons etc in front. He loved colour! Saturday, 31 January 2015. After a couple o...
