A Patchwork of Thoughts: Words

http://quiltwoman.blogspot.com/2012/01/words.html

A Patchwork of Thoughts. Random thoughts that make me think. Saturday, January 07, 2012. I got a new book recently. "The Power of words and the Wonder of God." It's essays, written by various leaders,on words. The first one is by Paul Tripp and gave me much to think on. He also talks about speaking out of the kingdom of God's love or the kingdom of our own selfish desires. An interesting thing to be aware of throughout the day. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Patchwork of Thoughts. Random thoughts that make me think. Wednesday, January 18, 2012. More from Larry Crabb. A few nuggets from "66 Love Letters" by Larry Crabb. God, I believe, help my unbelief. I hope, help my hopelessness. I love, help my lack of love." Pg. 124. I like this because I struggle with these things daily, but I do believe, hope and trust. My justice serves the deeper purposes of My love. Always." pg. 125. I often don't understand His justice, but I can trust in it. More from Larry Crabb.

A Patchwork of Thoughts: July 2011

http://quiltwoman.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

A Patchwork of Thoughts. Random thoughts that make me think. Saturday, July 02, 2011. Let Your Heart Rejoice! I've been memorizing Psalm 13:5-6 and trying to discipline myself to praise God for all things, especially my salvation and then I heard a song yesterday that was such a good reminder to me. It's a song by Annie Herring, I don't know the name of it, but it's very simple and I've always loved it. Never let a day go by without letting your heart rejoice,. To thank Him for the things He's done,.

A Patchwork of Thoughts. Random thoughts that make me think. Thursday, November 10, 2011. Trusting in His providence. I'd also recommend "A Sweet and Bitter Providence," by John Piper. A Patchwork of Thoughts: Dancing with Max

http://quiltwoman.blogspot.com/2011/12/dancing-with-max.html

A Patchwork of Thoughts. Random thoughts that make me think. Friday, December 23, 2011. I recently read "Dancing with Max" by Emily Colson. And so enjoyed it. Max is her amazingly wonderful autistic son. I loved the response of their church to him. I loved her love and delight in him, and that she was real about how hard it is at times to raise him. Chaos of the Cognitive: February 2006

http://kristinschaos.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html

Chaos of the Cognitive. Reality v. Want. I know this is sounding like this dear friend is dead, and in a sense, she is. Oh sure, she still breathes and inhabits this earth, she lives and goes to Starbucks (because all Seattle people do) and listens to music, probably still acts like nobody else (she really should be on Broadway) and goes to bars and lives for herself. And in that sense, she's dead. The hardest thing I've had to struggle with God over in some time. Posted by KJ at 2:44 PM.

Need More to Survive | Musings of a Random Nature

Musings of a Random Nature. Thinking quietly out loud. August 4, 2011. Need More to Survive. Book Review: Surviving Your Serengeti 7 Skills to Master Business and Life. NY Times best seller on the cover? I’m not sure how that could happen since the book was just released. I’d truly recommend Lencioni’s works as a better read and use of funds. It’s not a bad book, just a bit thin on real help or guidance for a real world. This entry was posted on Thursday, August 4th, 2011 at 7:05 pm and posted in Musings.

Chaos of the Cognitive: July 2005

http://kristinschaos.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html

Chaos of the Cognitive. Why am I doing this? To be honest I have no real idea why I have just created a blog. I don't really see that much a need for it. But whatev, its a done deal and I guess I'll just see how it works out, if I even ever remember I have it and post to it. But whatev. To the point of cheating. Our team came in last place of course. Chaos of the Cognitive: March 2006

http://kristinschaos.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html

Chaos of the Cognitive. I love this movie, especially the part where McClane is pulling the glass out of his foot and you see the smeared blood on the floor leading into the bathroom. I've see this movie like billion times and I never get sick of it! Right now its at the part where he's on top of the roof, covered in blood and swinging by a fire hose down behind a fireball of cosmic porportions, semi-automatic weapon handing from his shoulder. I don't know why but I just love this movie! Or Jars of Clay.

Chaos of the Cognitive: April 2006

http://kristinschaos.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html

Chaos of the Cognitive. Phantom of the Opera. My two favorite operas by far are Les Meserables and Phantom of the Opera. I love the beauty of the them, the complexites and the great mirror into the human heart. I watched Phantom this afternoon and was struck by one artistic element. Because his character begins to come out and we see the depths of evil within this hurting individual. And as you recoginze all this, you find him more and more loathesome. Posted by KJ at 3:24 PM. So I was sitting there pray...

Chaos of the Cognitive: December 2005

http://kristinschaos.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html

Chaos of the Cognitive. I don't understand politics. I try to avoid them as much as possible because it just doesn't make sense to me. But yesterday I was practically livid. Three guys have made a documentary about it: www.invisiblechildren.com. Has much more information, not just about the children but the timeline, story for why this is going on. These men are terrorists, which is exactly what we've been trying to fight. Sure they're not attacking us but they are murdering innocent people! Especially t...

Chaos of the Cognitive. Cuz we don't belong here no no we don't belong here. And we'll be dancing, singing, bringing our praises by lifting our voices to Jesus there'll be no more crying, lying or dying when you and I are in heaven." - Paul Wright "Heaven". We rock forever, we stop whenever/We die whenever, we live forever/Its a phenonomon that can't be stopped/Forever, we stop whenever." - Toby Mac "Phenonomon". The Quilt Wizard

Life and Quilting in at the Big Easy Ranch in Northeastern Nevada. Thursday, February 7, 2013. I started this cute quilt for Hals last year to teach my friend, Jae, how to do invisible machine applique. It was also our maiden voyage with our Alto's QuiltCut2. What a wonderful tool! My pinwheels were so accurate! I'd highly recommend this tool to anyone. Back to the quilt, though. I saw it made up at Piper's Quilts. Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Decided to Start Blogging Again. Quilt Words

Friday, August 26, 2011. A Little Catching Up. Unfortunately, not a whole lot's been happening in my quilting world. The combination of not much time, and one project that's going to take hundreds of hours (I'll put that in the next post), keeps progress to a minimum. But, I decided I'd like to post when I have something to share, even if it's months in between. First, here's the linen quilt that was in pieces. Back in October- -finished! And some details, while it was still in the quilting frame . Satur...
