My Story — Betsy Betts
http://www.betsybetts.co.uk/about-me
In 2010 I opened the Brighton based studio/shop, Quilty Pleasures. I am intrigued not just by the quilts people make, but why they make them, and I believe that the process of making a quilt is as important as the finished result. I feel privileged to be able blend my work and career with a lifelong personal interest in textiles. Quilter, writer, designer, maker.

Mown: Weekend Report
http://mown-erica.blogspot.com/2011/06/weekend-report.html
Sunday, 5 June 2011. I've been to ALL my local quilt shops this week. I had a good excuse, - I need more of the fabrics I'm using to make my sampler quilt. I got this pile from my favourite fabric shop,. As well as getting 2 out of 3 of the fabrics I needed from. I also got tempted into buying this stack of solid fat quarters. I also went to the. Patchwork Dog and Basket. It's one of those shops I feel like I could quite happily live in, I'd definitely be happy curling up in this bed. 5 June 2011 at 19:10.

http://blu-shed.blogspot.com/2014/04/half-way.html
Monday, 21 April 2014. I promised to post more often didn't i? Erm, that didn't happen, sorry. well, i'm halfway through the 'make art that sells'. Online course and it's been a whirlwind. I don't want to write a saccharine oh-my-god-it's-amazing type blog post, i want to write something honest because actually, a lot of it hasn't been amazing, but that's because of my own hangups, not because of the course. (it's ok, i promise i won't say the phrase 'an amazing journey' a la the Xfactor.). Anyway.th...

Susan Bates: June 2013
http://susanbates.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 25 June 2013. I found this pattern on the internet a while ago for some cross stitch badges/ buttons - I can't remember where I found it, so I'm sorry that I can't credit you if they're your designs ;-(. They look like those Love Hearts sweets and are cute, in a kitschy kind of way! Chart and threads etc. I chose the 'Text Me' design but I changed the colours to my own colour sheme. I used DMC Stranded Cotton and stitched it onto 14 count white aida. Ta da finished button below! Then I noticed t...

Susan Bates: London Snaps
http://susanbates.blogspot.com/2013/07/london-snaps.html
Monday, 22 July 2013. On a trip to London to see the Kaffe Fassett textiles exhibition I walked along the Thames by the south bank. I walked from London Bridge down past The Globe Theatre and on to the Tate Modern - so I decided to post a few of the photos that I took along the way. I didn't realise that the Shard building is pretty much right on top of London Bridge station! The Gherkin' and London skyline. London does look great on camera - you can't really go wrong, can you? I had a vegan burger and a...

Susan Bates: Pacman cuteness!
http://susanbates.blogspot.com/2012/07/pacman-cuteness.html
Thursday, 5 July 2012. I found this chart on the internet for a Pacman design, helpfully already charted up! So I decided to stitch it up as a cross stitch design and make it into a little purse or maybe a make-up bag. It's stitched using 2 strands of stranded cotton on 14 count aida fabric. This is how it looked stitched up and made into a little purse, cute! I might get around to making a cushion design too eventually.something like this! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
