Quilty Folk

The Courage to Feel Creative Series. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. The Green Floating Squares Experiment. I've been plowing through the floating squares quilt as it is a very messy project. Working on this sort of quilt just sort of takes over the quilt room! And wowsers, late yesterday evening I was rewarded with a finished quilt top. Minus a bit of trimming of course. Floating Squares quilt top. Our income has been a fluctuating thing through the years. I do not. These are those kinds of fabrics and they...

Quilty Folk: 25 of the Best Quilt Blogs

http://quiltyfolk.blogspot.com/2013/03/25-of-best-quilt-blogs.html

The Courage to Feel Creative Series. Tuesday, March 19, 2013. 25 of the Best Quilt Blogs. This quilt is possibly the craziest quilt I have ever attempted- flying by the seat of my pants just to see where I end up! I finally figured out how to sew those slightly curved seams together so that the borders lay flat. Yay me! I was grinning so much my kids were probably scared to be around me.*wink. Border work on The Big Broken Dish. How hard is it to draw a light bulb? Tim Latimer Quilts - Quilts Etc. March ...

Quilty Folk: Hey, Whatever Works....

http://quiltyfolk.blogspot.com/2015/08/hey-whatever-works.html

The Courage to Feel Creative Series. Monday, August 10, 2015. Hey, Whatever Works. First there were four Vintage Red blocks and now there are eight. That means I'm either half through with them or maybe a third? Depends on how many I decide to make. They are super easy to stitch, but I have to take a break and switch them out with something else or I will probably go insane. Vintage Red blocks on the wall. It could be that I'm already there. We all live in our own little reality don't we? These blocks lo...

Quilty Folk: A Little Bit of Fun in the Quilting Room

http://quiltyfolk.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-little-bit-of-fun-in-quilting-room.html

The Courage to Feel Creative Series. Saturday, August 8, 2015. A Little Bit of Fun in the Quilting Room. I'm always stalking the clearance bin at the {somewhat} local quilt store for backing fabrics. It's much easier to pay $4-6 a yard for the back of our quilts rather than $9-12, right? So when this pretty floral caught my eye, I went ahead and bought the rest of the bolt {not quite 3 yards}. Left for use as backing. A little bit of prep work. I've also made a few tentative plans for going forward with ...

Quilty Folk: Working Through the Emotion

http://quiltyfolk.blogspot.com/2015/05/working-through-emotion.html

The Courage to Feel Creative Series. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Working Through the Emotion. Okay, here's the quilt that has been consuming all my time. It's the quilt about the fire. The day it started for us. Plus, I'm still wondering if I'll actually hit 'publish' on this post. It's just one of those quilts that seems kind of intensely crazy for people that weren't actually here. Ahh. so dramatic. It's not like the town was bombed or people died. Some feelings and emotion. So much love and support. I get ...

http://ohohquilts.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Oh, Oh, Quilts! Maandag 24 maart 2014. Back in London again! It has been a few weeks since my previous post, but I did not have much to write about. One interesting thing, we had a little break the weekend before last, another weekend in London, this time with my better half… it was gorgeous spring weather, we were so lucky. Any trip we take always involves f – o – o – d . When I am in London with my husband our first visit is usually to Denmark Street where the guitar shops are located. Sunday we woke u...

Wooly Quilter: Wooly Woolens Fun

http://woolyquilter.blogspot.com/2015/07/wooly-woolens-fun.html

Thursday, July 23, 2015. I had an absolutely fantastic time in Kansas City last weekend! Janice and Jim Johnson are always fabulous hosts! We had a great group of people - some of the regulars and a few new faces. This was my second workshop with Jayne Hester and I am really thrilled with how my rug turned out. I would have never come up with the idea to run with teal in a pineapple and certainly would not have used teal for sunflowers, but I am so happy with the colors! As usual, all of the food was won...

Quiltitis: Lo-o-o-ong time

http://suzanalmond.blogspot.com/2013/08/lo-o-o-ong-time.html

It's infectious you know! Friday, 23 August 2013. Since I found the mojo to write anything here. My life became chaotic - we've moved from the house in Devon fully into the Bedfordshire home, and have set about converting from 2 flats back to the original house. Someday it will be lovely, I'm sure but for now we're living in a building site! The hall, looking towards the front door. This was split to make two entrances insde the front door you can see here. The kitchen is almost. That'll make some space.

Quiltitis: Spare me a thought

http://suzanalmond.blogspot.com/2013/03/spare-me-thought.html

It's infectious you know! Friday, 29 March 2013. Spare me a thought. This evening - we're on the move again, back home for Easter. The reason I need some sympathy is that the house is going to be FREEZING. Because, in the hurry to leave I mis-programmed the central heating, didn't have time to sort it, so turned the whole she-bang off. It's not too cold in March after all, is it? Yes, well, then we had snow, and fog and COLD. So I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that the pipes haven't frozen!
