When determining the nodes of the network, the anchor extension parameter extends span of the interaction anchors in order to add flexibility when grouping anchors into nodes where the interactions between the anchors will form the edges. The extension parameter is used only to merge locations. Regions for nodes are based on the minimum and maximum locations of the anchors defining the node. In the above example, since the min PET parameter is set to 6, the edge with only 5 for its PET count is removed.

A network is composed of many connected components which are a subset of nodes that are all connected via edges. A connected component is such that there exists a path from one node to every other node within the component for any node in the component. Above provides a brief description of the different network measures provided when viewing more information about a node.
