Lake Bolsena is Italy’s hidden secret. Only 15kms south of Quinta Luna, the lake is Italy’s deepest volcanic lake. The area is largely unspoilt and the Western shore reminds us of Greek Islands from holidays years ago (except that the water isn’t salty! Very strict rules on pesticides and farming methods around the lake means that the water is unusually pure and everyone works hard to keep it that way. It is a beautiful place to swim, walk or just laze in the sunshine with a good book.

Quinta Luna Stryve International. January 2016. Nestling in 9 acres of its own grounds, Quinta Luna is our home in Italy. We have owned it since 2002 and welcome guests whenever we aren’t making use of it. The property stands atop a hill on the eastern side of the town of Acquapendente, at the southern end of the Val d’Orcia and enjoys magnificent views towards Monte Amiata and Monte Rufeno. Quinta Luna is a large and comfortable italian farmhouse originally built at the turn of the last century.

Acquapendente is a thriving market town. Its medieaval centre is a 5 minute walk from Quinta Luna. The town boasts a good selection of bars and restaurants. With a market on a Friday, three supermarkets and excellent ‘alimentari’ shops you will find everything you need. Acquapendente also has a hospital and two vetinary surgeries. The Pugnalone festival on the 3. Weekend in May is the highlight of a number of festivals that run throughout the year.

Quinta Luna sleeps 6 comfortably. Accommodation comprises : Ground Floor : Large sitting room with double doors on 3 sides leading to covered terrace. Dining Room with open fire. Kitchen. Twin Bedroom (Queen size beds) Toilet and Shower room. First Floor : Double Bedroom (King Size Bed). Twin Bedroom (Single Beds). Bathroom and Toilet. The furniture is comfortable and the rooms are all spacious with high ceilings. The larger pieces of art-. Works are originals by our very own artist (Kathryn Garland).

Gardens

Enjoy 9 acres of gardens and grounds. It is difficult to think of anywhere else we would ever want to be. The terrace leads to about an acre of relatively flat, grassed gardens with some delightfully shady trees. The house sits in a further 8 acres of grounds that are currently fallow but when farmed, produce a quantity of wine and olive oil. You will find various fruit trees around the grounds. If the fruit is in season then please help yourself :.
