Go Go night runner. I managed to knock out the tempo run surprisingly. I did 10 minutes warmup at around 11:30 pace and then 15 minutes at around a 10:30 - 10:15 pace and the final 10 minutes at 11:30. My overall pace for the whole schebang was 10:50. Not too bad for this old slowpoke. Since I've been tracking my calorie intake, I purposely made sure to watch what I was eating all day cause I desperately needed ice cream. You want to know about me? I've since added 2 more to that tally. The plan is to tackle a full marathon in November. I'm all signed up and training starts soon. In the effort to have full disclosure, I should also warn that I'm SLOOOWWW. I did all that for this sad thing? Poo (Also, I was sick during this, I don't stuff my bra.). I'm going to use this page to journey through my training for the San Antonio Rock n Roll full. Marathon. This is going to be my first full marathon and I'm training with a group called USA Fit. Each week we get a schedule from our coach. During the week we have time goals and on Saturday we do our long runs as a group. Starting shortly we will be meeting on Tuesday nights to do speedwork. Week 4 (5/30 - 6/5). Monday - 35 minutes - easy. 357 miles, 9:50 average pace. Tuesday - 45 minutes - hillwork.

This week my work celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week (yes, a week later than everyone else). I couldn’t resist taking my camera (with my macro lens, of course) and snapping a few shots. especially since flowers are my favorite thing to shoot. While I appreciated everything I received, I have to admit that what I loved best were the hugs. The big pile everyone in/knock the teacher over 15 students deep hugs. The “you’re the best teacher ever! But pretty pink flowers are definitely always welcome. 🙂.

First of all, I finally got my official time from my first 5K the other day: I came in 82nd place, out of 214 runners, in 34 minutes, 29 seconds. To which I say, meh. I mean, great that I made my goal time (I wanted under 35 minutes) but I’ve run 3.11 miles in 34 minutes flat before. I should’ve run a bit faster. They sent me this pic, which is the only non-blurry pic of me running. Not the most flattering tho. I think it might be time for a new sports bra? June 4th, which is only 3 weeks away. Whoa.
