Efter en langstrakt planlægningsproces, som blev indledt i 2006, kunne vi i 2011 langt om længe gå i gang med opstillingen af de tre vindmøller. Nedenfor beskrives byggeprocessen i dagbogsform. Før jul 2011 blev anlægget af ca. to kilometer ny grusvej og en arbejdsvej over jernbanen Holstebro-Struer afsluttet. Historien — Quistrup

Quistrup er en gammel herregård, og er et af de ældst kendte navne fra Gimsing Sogn. Ejendommen nævnes allerede i 1163, som en del af det gods kongeætlingen Buris Henriksen i kong Valdemar den Stores nærværelse skænkede til oprettelsen af et cistercienserkloster i Tvis. De syv karpedamme, som stadigt præger parken, er vidnesbyrd om munkenes diæt. De ligger i forskellig højde, og kunne tømmes én for én, hvorefter karperne let kunne samles ind.
Vindmøller — Quistrup

På Quistrup står tre vindmøller. De er produceret af Siemens Wind Power A/S, og er af typen SWT D.D 3.0-101, som er en gearløs vindmølle. Vindmøllerne blev sat i drift i maj 2012, og forventes at levere en årlig energiproduktion på omkring 28.500.000 kWh. Du kan læse mere om byggeprocessen her. Og se billeder her.
Driften — Quistrup

På Quistrup drives konventionel planteavl med korn, raps og frøgræs. Dertil kommer en mindre juletræsproduktion og en mindre skov. Til pleje af naturarealer omkring hoved- og avlsbygningerne holdes en lille kødkvægsbesætning af skotsk højlandskvæg. På ejendommen er ansat én fuldtidsmedarbejder, som forestår markopgaver som pløjning, harvning, halmbjergning til eget fyr og gødskning, mens øvrige markopgaver varetages af Tipsmark Maskinstation I/S.

Saturday, March 3, 2012. Victoria, Canada visit. At dinner, we met with cousin Ricky, his wife Oday and their beautiful and artistic daughter Alex. We went to Sydney, on the other side of the island. It was nice catching up with Ricky and family. Alex has become a celebrity artist in Victoria. Quistrup ligger to kilometer syd for Struer. Ejendommen drives med konventionel planteavl herunder juletræer. Eneste besætning er en lille flok skotsk højlandskvæg, som benyttes til pleje af arealer omkring hoved- og avlsbygninger. En ny væsentlig driftsgren er to af de vindmøller, som står øst for avlsbygningerne. Se nærmere herom under Vindmøller.
