It is a wonderful treat to leave my desk and visit with children. I have spoken at schools, book fairs, festivals, bookstores, and libraries, and to adults at SCBWI. WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR IDEAS? Many of my stories are based on events that really happened in my life. Of course, that is only part of it. The real story is filtered through my imagination, memories and emotions surface, and people, places, and conversations I have observed and listened to contribute.
