A Wordy Woman: August 2015
http://shariburke.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Words, thoughts, ideas, books, art, craft, and observations from my life in the slow lane in a small, rural Irish village. Saturday, August 1, 2015. Walking Around in Donegal Town. The other day we went to Donegal Town for a few hours. We'd been told about the bank walk- a wooded trail that runs along the bay- and we wanted to walk there. It is a beautiful spot. The walk starts right next to the library, so before we began we went in and got our library cards. Yay! Posted by Shari Burke.

Words, thoughts, ideas, books, art, craft, and observations from my life in the slow lane in a small, rural Irish village. Sunday, July 12, 2015. The Beautiful Blooming Gardens. We spent a delightful couple of weeks with a friend who visited from Oregon. The time flew by all too quickly, but we had fun while she was here. Our neighbour played tour guide for us and brought us around to various beautiful scenic spots in this area- we do live in an amazing part of the world! Temperatures have been mostly in...

Words, thoughts, ideas, books, art, craft, and observations from my life in the slow lane in a small, rural Irish village. Saturday, February 28, 2015. Splendid Soggy Saturday Stroll. After breakfast and coffee, we went out for a walk this morning. It's my kind of day! There was plenty of colour around, too- signs of spring all over. Then she decided to come and see what we were all about- until she thought better of it and turned off into the bushes! As are the bright pink buds and flowers:. As we were ...

A Wordy Woman: My 2 Cents
http://shariburke.blogspot.com/2015/06/my-2-cents.html
Words, thoughts, ideas, books, art, craft, and observations from my life in the slow lane in a small, rural Irish village. Thursday, June 18, 2015. The one and two cent coins add up quickly and are heavy. There are no one and two dollar bills here- those are coins as well, so there are amounts ranging from 1 cent to 2 euro. We like the one and two euro coins, but of course they don't accumulate quite as quickly :-). Apparently it works well in 5 other EU states, which are already doing the same thing.

Words, thoughts, ideas, books, art, craft, and observations from my life in the slow lane in a small, rural Irish village. Sunday, June 14, 2015. Yesterday I was talking coffee and saying that we were still not used to having a french press instead of a coffee machine. Tim to the rescue! He knocked on the door a bit later, bearing this:. It was nice to drink non-gritty coffee this morning :-). It's still fairly cool here- at least for June- even though the sky is bright blue. I love it! Anthropologist, e...

Words, thoughts, ideas, books, art, craft, and observations from my life in the slow lane in a small, rural Irish village. Saturday, March 28, 2015. Getting the Feet Covered. One day last fall we were getting ready to head out for a walk. I put on my hiking sandals and heard a weird flapping sound. I looked at the bottom of the shoe and my heart sank. I was really surprised to see this because these were new when we left and they lasted only 6 or 7 months! We haven't been doing much walking anyway since ...

A Wordy Woman: January 2015

Words, thoughts, ideas, books, art, craft, and observations from my life in the slow lane in a small, rural Irish village. Saturday, January 31, 2015. One of the many things that have made me happy about living here is the fact that I sleep really well- and I did even through the summer, which I had not done in over a decade. Bill has been pretty much on the same timetable. This morning when we got up, he put the coffee on and I got breakfast ready. Posted by Shari Burke. Friday, January 30, 2015. I can ...
