What Is Good?: September 2010
http://r-makinson0912-good.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Personal and Professional Development. Friday, 17 September 2010. Series Four: Memorable Quotes. We’ll trick those race car loving wide-loads into watching your lefty homoerotic propaganda hour yet! You just don’t like anybody, do you? Hello fellow human being. Would you like to ask me what time it is? Are you a large child or a small adult? You look regular. Could I guess your name? Are you a preop-transcentaur? Excuse me, do you have change for a $10,000 bill? Does anyone want to be my friend? Oh right...

Final Major Project: Evaluation: Sitcom Standards
http://r-makinson0912-fmp.blogspot.com/2012/05/evaluation-sitcom-standards.html
Tuesday, 29 May 2012. With my Splendor Pelicula brief I was working with computer rendered, black line icon illustrations and with my skate branding brief I was working with rounded, colourful, computer vectorised illustrations. This brief was designed to help me develop my hand drawings abilities, with an obvious digital inclusion at the end of the drawing process. It also helped improve my character depiction. PPD: Evaluation
http://r-makinson0912-ppd.blogspot.com/2012/05/evaluation.html
Wednesday, 30 May 2012. Throughout the PPD module I have struggled to promoted myself and my design practice. Perhaps it is due to my lack of confidence that I neglected responsibilities such as self branding and creating promotional material. Whenever I look around the studio I see people improving, getting better day by day. It's incredibly disheartening to feel as though I am the one being left behind. Insight into what my future prospects look like, not 'pipe dreams' or unrealistic expectations.

Design Context: January 2011
http://r-makinson0912-dc.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Personal and Professional Development. Thursday, 27 January 2011. Its got an incredibly large gallery full of all sorts of interesting textures. Below is just one example of what I mean. Saturday, 22 January 2011. Friday, 21 January 2011. Below are a few personal interpretations of the More4 logo using my red, white and blue colour scheme. I also combined a few textures with the logos to add more depth and a vintage feel, again closely linked to the 60's and 70's vibe of Forrest Gump. Five USA and More4.

PPD: Final Portfolio
http://r-makinson0912-ppd.blogspot.com/2012/05/final-portfolio.html
Wednesday, 30 May 2012. I have finally settled on a design for my portfolio. At this moment in time it contains purely imagery from the previous module, something I will address at the end of the Final Major Project. It is the portfolio layout that got me a two week placement at Hallmark through the 'Creative Milkround' event organsied by the college though. So it can't be too bad. PPD: The Gateway, Leeds
http://r-makinson0912-ppd.blogspot.com/2012/05/gateway-leeds.html
Saturday, 26 May 2012. The Gateway, Leeds. Today was the day. The day when I officially signed a year long contract to move into 'The Gateway' apartment complex in Leeds. After having a few 'real world' realisations, particularly in the last year, I knew it would not be an option for me to return home. I would fall back into the routine I was in before I left. I would allow my parents to take control of life again, and I wouldn't be living it the way I wanted. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Design Context: November 2010
http://r-makinson0912-dc.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Personal and Professional Development. Tuesday, 9 November 2010. I found an incredible website called Bakerella. There are no words to describe how amazing this website is. It is right up my street. Anyway I found this 'cookie in a jar' idea and was blown away. The basic idea is that all the ingredients are placed into a jar, one on top of the other, with no real form of separation. Below are a few detailed shots of what you get. Also on the website is a range of simpler cooking kits like the one below&#...
