Of miniatures and wargaming. Saturday, January 10, 2015. Tyranids WIP: Hive Fleet Mandasar. It's the weekend once again! Had to do a test model to remember how to paint my warlock purple or warlord purple Nids, depending on which company's paints I am using lol! It was fun painting the Nids again. Managed to convert up and assemble more Hormagaunts. The Xenomorph heads are from Chapterhouse Studios. An excellent product. Have to find some way to get new bases though. Have a great weekend everyone! I asse...

The Ward Save: Dark Angels WIP: Deathwing Venerable Dreadnought
http://skanwy.blogspot.com/2015/08/dark-angels-wip-deathwing-venerable.html
Of miniatures and wargaming. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Dark Angels WIP: Deathwing Venerable Dreadnought. I've been under the weather a lot lately, and the streak has not been stopping. I'm thinking I need more exercise. But hobbying has not stopped much as I paint up one of the few metal miniatures I have in my collection. The Venerable Dreadnought is finally seeing paint after almost 10 years! And I've painted him in the colors of the Deathwing for my Dark Angels army in celebration of the new Codex.

The Surrey Spartans Gaming Club. About the Surrey Spartans. Ill Blood – John’s thoughts. June 20, 2015. Next up is John reviewing his Warriors of Chaos list for Ill Blood 3. What army are you taking and what were the thoughts behind the choice of army? I had recently acquired WoC [Warriors of Chaos] and DoC [Daemons of Chaos] and wanted to play something different. I have always played armies before where I ran big blocks of units but decided I wanted to focus on single, fast hitting monsters. Spartans o...

The Surrey Spartans Gaming Club. About the Surrey Spartans. Kill Team Day in review. June 15, 2015. With the blog missing out on the action at the club for a little while, I thought I’d add a quick feature on the recent great success of our second major event at the club, the first Kill Team Event at the Coulsdon clubhouse since moving. The club really pulled together for the day with the emphasis on the fun and narrative elements of the event, although there were still some tough lists being played!

Marc’s Bloody Angels: 40k League Q&A | The Surrey Spartans Gaming Club

The Surrey Spartans Gaming Club. About the Surrey Spartans. Marc’s Bloody Angels: 40k League Q&A. July 18, 2015. Marc was known for running a solid Blood Angels army with the previous edition codex, hence the bloodiness of his charge forward approach, and is currently adapting to the playstyle of the new edition. I reckon he’s already missing Matt Ward (I’d be in agreement with him there! So without further ado, let’s hear his thoughts! The Xiphon is a unique choice, what were the reasons for taking it?

The Surrey Spartans Gaming Club. About the Surrey Spartans. Painful Proxies: DJ’s Cannob. July 18, 2015. The cannon was being called ‘cannob’ on Facebook, so I think the term has somewhat stuck…. The cannon in-game in a practise against Marc’s Elves before Ill Blood. I’m sure there will be more proxies to discuss at some point, but for now, DJ’s Dwarf cannon is making a name for itself! The Ward Save: March 2015
http://skanwy.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Of miniatures and wargaming. Monday, March 2, 2015. Respite approaches and I'm trying to keep the flames of hobbying alive. I did a quick paint up today on a rare occassion I came home earlier than usual from work. I've had this Eldar miniature from Chapterhouse Studios for a few years and decided to give it a lick or two of paint. Instead of losing the only living unit in a sea of yellow and blue, I wanted him to be more visible. Hope everyone has had a good Monday. March on to the end of the week :).

Of miniatures and wargaming. Sunday, August 10, 2014. WIP: Grey Knight with Psycannon. I guess its now down to this. A blog post a month lol! I've been rather caught up between the anxiety that work brings and resting after a long day to have enough energy for family and hobby. Not giving up though, and returning to painting and gaming is always one of the most welcome beacons in the ocean of everyday life. So I painted up this fella on the spur of the moment. Have a great week ahead everyone! SoH Praeto...

Of miniatures and wargaming. Sunday, December 28, 2014. WIP: Deathwing Terminator Army. Its the end of the year again and my favorite time as its Christmas! I decided to revisit my Deathwing Termis during this festive season. They were what got me into 40K after playing the old Space Hulk game on PC many years ago. Also did some conversions using the termis from the Dark Vengeance box set. I decided to paint up a test model again as I had forgotten how to paint Deathwing lol! I played around with the new...
