Friday, September 14, 2012. Leanna’s Refrigerator Dill Pickles. Leanna’s Refrigerator Dill Pickles. 6 to 8 pounds cucumbers, scrubbed and sliced into ¼” thick rounds. 10 fresh dill sprigs. 2 tbsp dill seeds. 1 large onion, thinly sliced. 6 garlic cloves, sliced into thirds. 3 cups white vinegar. 1 cup Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar. 1/2 cup canning/pickling salt. Is spoiling me by offering delivery in my area. They brought me a big box of Fuji and Granny Smith apples last week along with some beautiful heirloom tomatoes and a bag for feed for the hens. Gotta love it. Along with some good basic canning tips and a recipe for pie crust made without shortening (butter only). I am ...

Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Yes KMart - here is yet another incident of your famous exploding Martha Stewart tables that you've been ignoring for years. This time it was in my backyard. A shattered glass mess under what used to be our fabulous outdoor table with a built in lazy Susan. It was your Martha Stewart table exploding that caused our flock to start screeching. Thankfully they were 30 feet away and not hit by any flying glass. Here is my dilemma. I think you should compensate me with at least.

Wednesday, February 19, 2014. In the hen house. A fabulous find in one of the coops today. One of the older hens who has not laid an egg in ages is apparently producing again. Out of 7 hens we now have 6 who are laying eggs. Looks like the old ladies are trying to keep up with the youngsters. In human terms, this is like Helen Mirren giving birth.
