December 15, 2009. cooking. Black Bean and Corn Soup. Tonight my wonderful hubby and I had just finished our first round of P90X and I needed to make a quick and healthy dinner. I decided to go with a black bean and corn soup. I rummaged through my pantry and discovered that I also had lots of cans of tomatoes so I decided to add those. It was super easy, quick, and delicious. Black Bean and Corn Soup. 2 (16 oz.) cans of black beans, drained and rinsed. 1 box of vegetable stock. Salt and pepper to taste.

c r o s s i n g | p r o v i d e n c e: I yelp for kelp
http://crossingprovidence.blogspot.com/2013/02/i-yelp-for-kelp.html
Maybe just "getting to the other side" isn't good enough for EVERY chicken. I yelp for kelp. A recent round of accelerated hair loss sent me running to the doctor for some lab work to check my thyroid levels. Twenty-five years ago, I had a run-in with Graves' disease, an auto-immune disease that causes the thyroid gland to go crazy (think of flooring the gas pedal on a car). Okay, so if it's true, why do I even care? When's the last time you saw somebody walking around sporting a massive goiter? Our bodi...

Maybe just "getting to the other side" isn't good enough for EVERY chicken. Ready aim. fire(ish). Don't expect me to unpack and neatly re-fold something here that great thinkers have pondered for centuries. That's not the point of my little blog. However, in THIS particular instance, I believe that catatonic is all too easily masked as patience and contentment, and the culprit behind this suspended existence is FEAR. And living in fear is pretty scary. Let's not. Do that, okay? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Maybe just "getting to the other side" isn't good enough for EVERY chicken. Of course, I'm (half) joking here. Anyone who knows me understands that I enjoy procurement as much, or more, as the next person and I HAVE actually made a few such purchases in the last few weeks. (Let the records show that I was definitely NOT under the influence of any mind-altering substance when I did it.). Who really looks at them anyway? That's messed up. So for the last couple of months I've taken 30 minutes here and ...

Life, love and homemade goodies. Mumbai, bombay, calcutta, kolkata. Porch swings, Jesus and stray dogs. →. Tuesday, January 5, 2010. I don’t know how long it’s been, but I feel like I’ve been over here for ages…in a good way. I don’t even know what’s happened in the past week and a half, but so much. I’m a bit envious of the group that flew home today. However, I am excited at becoming a temporary, small piece of this Indian community. I love and miss you all. Photo time! Cruising along in the train.

finnfolk: December 2012
http://finnfolk.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 13, 2012. I loved Thanksgiving this year. We fit 10 people in our little apartment and had quite the feast together. No one at our gathering was from San Francisco, so we were all away from our families and normal traditions. Spending the day in each other's company was wonderful and fun, plus I thoroughly enjoy throwing a little party. Thankfully, the wonderful Carly Mask. Took some beautiful photos of the evening. Have a look if you'd like! Cool Things About Our Thanksgiving:. I am s...
