Thoughts on the end of Friday Night Lights. Feb 9th, 2011 at 2:48 PM. Tonight is the series finale of Friday Night Lights. It's kind of strange, because unlike so many beloved shows, it isn't over because it's lost all of its fans or its gone so down hill that it's unrecognizable or even so much that the core cast has all left, because really none of that is true. It's over because the story has been told. Well, mostly.but it feels okay for it to be done. I'm so glad this brought us together!
