Die deutschen Abenteuer einer amerikanischen Chemikerin. An American Chemist's German Adventures. Thursday, June 25, 2009. I went back to the America last week to see my little brother get hitched. It was pretty awesome. I'm looking forward to my permanent return in just 36 days. Here are the highlights of my trip:. 1 Doing a shot with my brother on the DL when old people were around. 2 Drinking beers with the Train and Geoffrey after I'd been awake for 23 hours. 3 Going to Cedar Point.

Lieder einer suchenden Gesellin. Songs of a Searching Wayfarer. Monday, October 26, 2009. Have some self-respect, Elizabeth Edwards. I am getting more and more fed up with Elizabeth Edwards. Yes, whatever happens within a marriage is between the two people (and often the families) involved, but this is no longer the case with a very public and political couple entrenched in a very ugly and public cheating affair. Thursday, October 1, 2009. Words and Categories are too Simple. While she does not touch dir...

Monday, July 20, 2009. I loved visiting the German national history museum - my favorite museum in Berlin for sure! From the exhibit of the fall of the Wall. The Wall as an electric chair. One of the most famous images at East Side Gallery. A painting depicting leaders of the Protestant Reformation. A portrait of Calvin. The shovel used to break ground for the Reichstag. A Doctor's mask used to defend against the plague. A Banquet Table from the Berlin Palace. A game table from the Berlin Palace.

Lieder einer suchenden Gesellin. Songs of a Searching Wayfarer. Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Americanness, Constitutionality, and the maintenance thereof. Couldn't have said it better myself:. 14th Amendment is key to the American experiment. By Cristina Rodriguez, Special to CNN. August 17, 2010 11:09 am EDT. In 2004, voters in Ireland amended their constitution along similar lines, in part for reasons familiar to the American audience: fear that birthright citizenship attracted asylum claimants who could ...

Ashlan in Deutschland: A life-changing experience
http://ashlaninde.blogspot.com/2009/07/life-changing-experience.html
Sunday, July 5, 2009. Please bear with me – this will probably be a very long entry.). I know, I know - I exaggerate frequently. I’m sure that most of my close friends and family rolled their eyes at the title of this post and perhaps not without reason. I am acutely aware of my not-so-sparingly-used ability to categorize nearly every excellent meal, trip, photograph, piece of chocolate, knitting project, whatever as being “in the top five in my life.”. Shane, me and Alex. Alex, Shane, beer. Group shot o...

Thursday, October 30, 2008. I put on my artistic flair with my artistic friends on Tuesday night for a pumpkin carving extravaganza! Phil made pumpkin soup from scratch with our scooped insides (it was so amazingly delicious! I am having a great week so far and am so ready for my move to my new apartment on Saturday! Halloween is tomorrow, along with vast amounts of packing for the 4th or 5th time in a matter of weeks. Hope all is well! I officially have cast my ballot, with pictures to prove it! Then ha...

Die deutschen Abenteuer einer amerikanischen Chemikerin: June 2009
http://eriningermany.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Die deutschen Abenteuer einer amerikanischen Chemikerin. An American Chemist's German Adventures. Thursday, June 25, 2009. I enjoy a good cake as much as the next girl, but Germans take cake eating to a whole new level. I'm really not sure how they eat as much cake as they do. I'd say that group members average about three pieces of cake at such an event. I have much to document and I promise to try to catch up before I jet off (or ICE off) to Berlin this weekend. I will not fulfill this promise. Miya in...

Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Happy Birthday Germany" plus Spring Adventures with Kenny Kropa! It's been a little while since I have had a chance to sit down and post, but I wanted to write a quick note. So much has been going on in a whirlwind of spring - project work really heating up, enjoying the spring weather, Fulbright friends visiting, and getting ready for Kenny to visit! The few days leading up to Kenny's arrival were really fun with my Berlin friends Rachel and Katie! Jill and Melissa at karaoke.
