Thank you for helping watch Jack. Thank you for all of the yummy food and treats. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. Thank you for asking how my day is. Thank you for asking if we need anything. Thank you to my prayer warriors (your prayers are changing things). There was much good news. I have cor...

Musings: January 2012
http://musingsofsarah.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Like a bird on a wire. Thursday, January 5, 2012. In case my last post wasn't overly introspective (haha), I think I need to look back on the year. After reading other people's blogs so far this year, I am realizing how important it is to acknowledge what has been and to be cognizant of what can be. This year, I don't want to set resolutions but do want to set goals or things to work on.I find the word 'resolution' has some negative connotations, that's all. I want to get back into running. From runn...

Musings: August 2011
http://musingsofsarah.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Like a bird on a wire. Tuesday, August 23, 2011. A beauteous wedding and some sibling time. As you can see, it was quite a solemn affair. The bridesmaids, Courtney and Mandy, all friends with Amanda since elementary school. I was quite taken with this chandelier and interior of this building. The superb bride and I. A good many of us. Some thistles by the side of the road. Alas, this is the best my camera could do. That about sums up my time. It was pretty sweet to get an earful of the Lanark County ...

The Thomsens: Baby Pants from an Old Shirt
http://petermapledawnthomsen.blogspot.com/2013/04/baby-pants-from-old-shirt.html
Saturday, April 20, 2013. Baby Pants from an Old Shirt. One shirt - long sleeved knit, or sweater, sweatshirt. Piece of elastic - long enough for babies' waist. Cut the arms off the shirt. Find a pair of pants that fit baby. Use the inseam of the pants to gauge how far to cut the inseam into the sleeves. Add another inch or so on the top to leave room for folding it over. Mark the length with a pin (see photo). Cut down the inseam. Finish the top edge with a surger or zig zag stitch. Jesseca Van der Loop.

Phillips: Blessings
http://joshlauraphillips.blogspot.com/2011/09/blessings.html
Thursday, September 01, 2011. Here are some pictures of our yard. Liam has loved having his Papa Phillips over all the time. I have to try and distract him or get him to just watch John work from the window otherwise he can be a little nuisance and it's a little tough for John to get any work done. :). Liam watching John from the door. Of course he didn't last too long at the door and was down there helping out too. The sod took awhile to come in, so we were very excited when it finally arrived. People a...

Phillips: September 2010
http://joshlauraphillips.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 25, 2010. Last year on September 14th, we started a tradition of going to an old train bridge we had gone to the night before Liam was born. Is our post of last year. I wanted to keep this tradition going, and head back every year to get some family pictures. Here we are in 2008, waiting in anticipation for our baby to come. Liam likes the part where we get to throw rocks over the edge. Thursday, September 23, 2010. Our first stop was at the World's Biggest Dinosaur. John and Tam boug...

Phillips: July 2010
http://joshlauraphillips.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 31, 2010. An update on our not so little guy:. He is now in a big boy bed and loves the freedom of getting out (when he’s not supposed to) whenever he wants. He’s definitely turning into a little boy and I’m not sure how I feel about that. At least he still likes his cuddle time with mommy. He loves to look through hockey cards with his daddy and find all the Oilers. He gets quite excited when he sees one and does a little “Oilers dance”. Monday, July 12, 2010. Friday morning we got a chan...

Sunday, August 29, 2010. Yesterday, we went to Cold Lake for "Race the Base". The day was full of very expensive cars getting a chance to drive very fast. Jason, I'm pretty sure you would have loved this! We watched cars drive down a runway trying to beat their target speed, usually going over 300km an hour! We saw some Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Ford GTs, Jaguars, and a Maserati.yeah, it was pretty nice. Liam was in Car heaven! That's us.wearing toques in August! We met up with our good friends Greg and Meg.

The Thomsens: February 2014
http://petermapledawnthomsen.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 27, 2014. There have been a few complications with this pregnancy that many of you loving people have asked to be kept informed about. It's not very personal, but I do find blogging to be the most effective way to disperse the information. I'll try to be as chronological and sensical as possible. At our 19 week ultrasound it showed placenta previa. Meaning that, the placenta had grown over the cervix. Not ideal - how will the baby get out? What does THAT mean? I am home now with weekly...
