Camouflage and Cupcakes

So, Marc has never really. Grown his beard out. He's let it grow during hunting/fishing/camping trips, partly out of necessity and mostly because its a standing competition among his brothers to see who has the best beard. That is all about to change. Welcome to No Shave November! I was rereading some of my past posts and realized that I never announced the gender of our little one. Camouflage and Cupcakes: September 2013

http://rachelleandmarc.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

And Baby Makes Three. This is old news for most of you, but I wanted to document it anyways. We told my in-laws right away since we were staying with them and knew they'd start asking questions when I kept running to the bathroom and eating all their food. They were both very excited. My dad-in-law claimed that he already knew though. right. We were going to see my parents about a week after we found out so we decided to wait and tell them in person (MUCH better reaction that way! Post Graduation Trip #2.

Camouflage and Cupcakes: "It's a BUCK!!!!"

I was rereading some of my past posts and realized that I never announced the gender of our little one. Most of the world already knows, but for documenting purposes I'll tell the story. Was our immediate response. After checking on the baby's vital organs, limbs, and brain, the tech finally said "Ready to find out the gender? I'm pretty sure my heart was pounding at this point. She hovered over the baby's legs, which were spread wide apart I should add, and it was most definitely a boy! Halloween Porch ...

And it's already safely tucked away in our costume box so that we can use it again and again and it won't get ruined. Hooray! Oknow the moment you've all been waiting for: picture time! At the party we went to that night, some of Marc's friends teased him about the costume being very appropriate for him- the boy who never grew up. And then Marc said that my costume was appropriate for me too since Wendy is all motherly to all the lost boys. Hopefully that means I'll be a good mother. All in a Day's Work.

On the First Week of Christmas. If you want to read an extended version of this story and see pictures click here. You'll also see me sporting some REALLY stylish camo.)We all pitched in to decorate this monster of a tree that evening. I felt like Clara in the Nutcracker with a tree of that size.never in my life have I ever decorated a tree so huge! So this past Saturday, when I should have been doing homework, I made this. Enjoy the Ride: Land Kayaking

http://bstratford.blogspot.com/2014/09/land-kayaking.html

Saturday, September 27, 2014. For our kayaking adventure we unloaded the trailers at a spot called Aamalga Harbor. Beautiful place. We donned our "splash skirts.". Sam and Annie helped fit the pedals inside the kayaks to the right length. Thus, "Land Kayaking.". After the fitting, the kayaks were hauled to the launching point. The dock was covered with the most interesting barnacles and shell creatures. Next: we actually make it into the water. :). September 27, 2014 at 5:41 AM. View my complete profile.

Enjoy the Ride: Gearing Up

http://bstratford.blogspot.com/2014/09/gearing-up.html

Friday, September 26, 2014. Our first Alaska shore excursion was a kayak trip. We met our guides, Sam and Annie, (Salmon Annie), and loaded ourselves into a van that took us to their shop, a ways up the road from the port at Juneau. At the shop we all put on fashionable rubber boots. We signed our lives away,. And loaded up the kayaks. We were all pretty excited to get kayaking. Bruce did his requisite pose, and we were off on our adventure! September 26, 2014 at 5:41 AM. Those boots ARE uber fashionable!

Enjoy the Ride: August 2014

http://bstratford.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 29, 2014. After towing the Jeep to Brian's front door, we stayed a few days to play. Brian and Lindsey were at work on Friday, so Bruce and I had some fun. We started at Sutter's Fort State Historic Park. It was the first settlement in Sacramento. They have nice folk there who do demonstrations and tell you about the park's history. And throw bean bags into wooden buckets. There were a lot of neat historic touches to take pictures of:. A neat place to visit! Wednesday, August 27, 2014.

Friday, June 20, 2014. And The Organ Was Played. You know that time you have to fill between the wedding and the wedding luncheon? Last week, we filled our across the street from the temple, at the Brigham Tabernacle. It's a great historic building. Walking in, we were asked by the missionary couple if anyone wanted to play the organ. I thought to myself, "When will I ever have this opportunity again? So, I played the organ. I played Abide With Me- the one where the darkness deepens. We all had a good ti...

Enjoy the Ride: November 2013

http://bstratford.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Saturday, November 30, 2013. Bruce's sister married a really great guy a bit ago:. He's a farmer and we all really like him. They were married on a cold Autumn day, but it was a fun family occasion and everyone was happy. Yes, he's wearing a kilt. It's kind of "the thing" in my SIL's family. There were lots of cute nieces and grand-nieces at the wedding. And the new Brigham City temple was beautiful. Their reception had an Autumn/Burlap theme. Really cute. We wish the best for the happy couple! In fact, ...

Friday, January 31, 2014. Did you know that Village Inn has unlimited fish and chips on Friday nights? Well, ours does anyway. It's one of Bruce's favorites, so at least one Friday a month you can find us down the street at VI. Eating fish. PS iPhones are great for spontaneous pictures! But you probably already knew that. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. To continue our Alaskan kayaking adventure, we finally ventured out on to the waters of Eagle Bay. We were lucky that it was such a calm and warm day. Heading out to our destination, Scout Beach, we saw this to the right:. This to the left:. And this straight ahead. Paddling for all we were worth, after about 30 minutes, we made it to our destination, Scout Beach! Time for a rest and a snack! Saturday, September 27, 2014. We donned our "splash skirts.". Enjoy the Ride: October 2014

http://bstratford.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, October 2, 2014. The views from Scout Beach were amazing-. I got stuck like I do at any beach I go to, trying to catch a wave in my own way. After a rest and a snack we climbed back in the kayaks to make the trip back to the harbor. This is when the wildlife decide to show themselves. The only one I got a picture of was this bald eagle, which was appropriate, considering we were in Eagle Bay. Back at the harbor we had another bald eagle come in for a closer look. Enjoy the Ride: The Harbor In Juneau

http://bstratford.blogspot.com/2014/09/the-harbor-in-juneau.html

Thursday, September 25, 2014. The Harbor In Juneau. The first day of our cruise was spent at sea. In a fog bank. Sometimes we could glimpse land a long way off, but most of the time it was just fog and water. Our ship sounded it's fog horn, and that was pretty cool. On Monday morning, we pulled into the harbor in Juneau. Land! We were escorted in by the Coast Guard and their machine gun. Thick pine trees covered the hills and mountains around Juneau. Bruce was eying this fishing boat in the harbor.

Catching the Dream, Weaving the Story

Catching the Dream, Weaving the Story. Live your dream. Write your nightmare. That's our motto. Bones of the Woods. Mind of a Mad Man. Thursday, March 5, 2015. Thankful for a Snow Day! A lot of people are sick of snow. I get it. Last year I was sick of snow by this time too. If I lived on the East Coast, I would definitely be sick of snow. However, here in Missouri, I was worried that we'd miss out on snow this winter. So here's my first run - it's actually my second run. I had tried the hill about a...

Life is Beautiful, especially when it snows...

Life is Beautiful, especially when it snows. Saturday, 14 July 2012. Our trip from Nah Trang to Hue was a short and sweet four hour bus ride, we arrived early afternoon to a blazing sun. We quickly located a really nice hotel with a three bed room which we booked for a nice $12 a night! After checking in showing and taking a moment to relax we set out to see the city. We only had that afternoon and the next day to enjoy Hue before we moved on! We woke up pretty early and Mel and I decided to hit the town!

Lunes, Enero 23, 2012. Many believed that the word Maayon came from the root word “MAAYO”. This is somewhat correct because according to the elders of the place the origin of the name of the place came about this way:. Until one of the natives thought that the foreigners were asking about their harvest and so he answered, “MAAYO MAN”, meaning the harvest was good or bountiful. Considering that the Spaniards cannot pronounce the word well, they repeated the word “MAAYON”. Municipality of maayon,. 9829; Be...

Brinlee was very impatient wanting to go get. Then afterwards we went to "snob hill" as. They call it to get some more candy. The kids didn't last long,. I am thankf...
