Saturday, August 4, 2012. A peek into the cauldron Pt 2. I am slowly becoming rather passionate about the Charlotte Mason approach to schooling, and am quite amazed by how the reading/learning I've been doing in this area has coincided so neatly with the learning mentioned in Pt 1 of this post. Being the type of person who can't fully enjoy something unless others are enjoying it too, I just HAVE to share some of my discoveries with whoever is brave enough and faithful enough to read this blog. :-D.

A sprouting nettle plant peeking out from the layer of old winter leaves is just plain joyful. And I'm always keen to try something a little different with this delicious perennial. 2 large cloves garlic. 1 large chopped onion. 1L mason jar of packed nettles. 2 large chopped Idaho potatoes. 1 whole red chili pepper. 1/2tsp ground orange rind. 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar. 2 tbsp chia seeds.
