Leben in Deutschland

Monday, July 27, 2009. Mom and grandma come to europe. Tuesday, July 14, 2009. N Sunday we both looked at each other with concerned expressions; we could hear the rain hitting the window outside. But after having paid the train and hostel, we would only be saving 8.40 Euros by not going to Luxembourg. We thought it would be worth the trek and in fact, it was! Wednesday, July 1, 2009. We were so worn out that we spent the last hour with our feet in a fountain while we watch children play with the water.

Leben in Deutschland: London

http://rachelvonglahn.blogspot.com/2009/05/london.html

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. The last time that I was in London I was with my soccer team which made sight seeing a little limited.  Nearly 8 years have past since then and I cannot remember all the details of the trip.  Therefore, I enjoyed spending three full days in London exploring exactly what I wanted to explore; which was basically everything! 160;Annika and I arrived to our hostel quite late on Thursday night which made for a relaxing night and fresh start. Leben in Deutschland: September 2008

http://rachelvonglahn.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 30, 2008. I don't think I could do that until Kindergarten! Monday, September 22, 2008. Getting to Munich was stressful! I allowed myself 50 minutes to catch the train to Mannheim where I was to meet my cousin, Annika. I arrived to the bus early and it never showed! All that stress and worrying about catching a train that was delayed! There is a lot of fruit covered in chocolate and candy and glaze. I had strawberries covered in dark chocolate on a stick. Leben in Deutschland: Stateside

http://rachelvonglahn.blogspot.com/2009/06/stateside.html

Wednesday, June 10, 2009. It is impossible to describe each dish as most of them I could not identify myself;. Wylie Dufresne is known to use uncommon elements and techniques in his kitchen. For example, I enjoyed an ice cream bagel with freeze dried smoked salmon. It was incredible food in a vibrant atmosphere. Highly recommended! I explained that it was not common; in German, it translates to 'from Glahn' meaning my ancestors were once. Habitants from a place called Glahn. View my complete profile.

Leben in Deutschland: Prague

http://rachelvonglahn.blogspot.com/2009/06/prague.html

Saturday, June 13, 2009. The last time I travelled alone was over three years ago when I ventured to Fiji. Even then, I was set up with a tour so I was with a pretty steady group of people. This time, I was totally on my own in Prague. It was wonderful! Friday. I arrived extremely early in the morning and went for breakfast with some people from my bus. It was difficult to find a place that was open at 7 in the morning. After filling my tummy, I headed for my hostel. T. About 7 times. Between. Back to ch...

Joy in Morocco: May 2010

http://joyinmorocco.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 13, 2010. Some rural Moroccan women have peculiar sense of fashion. There is the traditional jellaba. Souqs are flooded with clothes of modern appeal. However, more often than not, rural Moroccan women simply throw an old bed sheet or fuzzy blanket over their pajamas for a day "out in town." I s this resourcefulness or a fashion crime? Such was my delight when I arrived in the Souss region. Here, the women drape themselves with colorful mhlef. Color the Souss with playful hues of life.

Joy in Morocco: March 2010

http://joyinmorocco.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 25, 2010. From time to time, I come across an individual's success story and think, " Efrita. It literally translates into "fiend." In Morocco, this term does not describe a demon or diabolically cruel person. It means someone who is highly skilled at something. It means someone who can move mountains. It means someone who is driven and can create change. It means beast. She's a beast. Tbark allah 3liha. Had a two-year partnership with the Association. They conducted numerous workshop...

Thursday, July 29, 2010. I have found that if you love life,. Life will love you back. Summer days have a wonderful way of dragging her feet. Days melt together into one drawn out thought. Life is a perpetual snooze mode. And I've tremendously enjoyed living in this unwound fashion! I have all the time in the world to savor precious moments in Morocco and cross off some to-dos. Joy in Morocco: August 2010

Tuesday, August 31, 2010. This ideal motivated me to accept Peace Corps Morocco’s invitation and work with women’s artisan cooperatives, as detailed in the job description. Close the case studies, climb out from behind the computer and hang up the phone! I don’t need to interview and write about other people doing amazing work. Where’s my. And who are my. I came enthusiastic to see this concept in action. I wanted to open doors and let the world can hear their stories. And that’s perfectly okay. Loaned m...

A Little Ray of Sunshine | An Exploration of the Abundant Life After Graduation

A Little Ray of Sunshine. Wisdom from Will Smith. February 5, 2014. The Pursuit of Happyness. And then I found this gem. Will Smith actually has quite a bit of wisdom to dispense, but as someone who frequently struggles with comparing myself and subsequently feeling inadequate, I thought this quote in particular was worth sharing. In a time of mid-quarter reviews and midterms, let’s not forget how relatively trivial some things are in the scope of eternity. The Key to Success: Grit (? January 9, 2014.
