ellie's madre: June 2010
http://elliesmadre.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 09, 2010. Boys will be girls and girls will be boys. When I was little, I had long "pretty" hair that curled at the ends. I remember being told what a pretty little girl I was. My grandmother took me to a beauty salon to get my haircut one summer. I want to say it was 1st or 2nd grade. I don't remember why she took me, maybe I was tired of long hair? What am I really trying to protect her from? By pausing, am I telling her that short hair isn't pretty? Links to this post. Live with intent...

ellie's madre: August 2009

Sunday, August 16, 2009. My letter about Eleanor. I wrote this for my blessing today. I wrote it to honor my relationship with my daughter Eleanor. Of course I cried throughout reading most of it. She is an awesome girl and I am lucky that she is my daughter. I wonder who she will become as she grows up, how she will love, what will excite her. What will her profession be, will she go away to school. I am already so proud of the person she is. I know that will only grow as she gets older, no ...Live with...

http://mamanomad.blogspot.com/2008/10/from-life-of-mama-nomad.html
Milk and Ink: From the Lap of Mama Nomad. Monday, October 13, 2008. From the life of Mama Nomad. I am joining Mrs. G. And her followers in a pictoral "Day in the Life." So without further ado, here is what 4 out of 5 days of the week look like for Mama Nomad. Lucky me, I like to sleep in and Papa Nomad takes the baby downstairs with him around 8 am. I roll out around 9:30 and usually see this first thing as I head downstairs:. So I drink a little black tea.(cup #1). And turn the kitchen into this! So for...

ellie's madre: Day 2
http://elliesmadre.blogspot.com/2010/10/day-2.html
Sunday, October 31, 2010. We are done with pregnancy and peeing on sticks around here. We are moving on to the next phase of parenting, with school and family trips and activities. And I am okay with that. I am hoping that I can start to see my period in a different way eventually. I don't want to fall into this place everytime I see blood. I feel like I am on the verge of something great and life-changing. Have you ever felt that way? I'm not nervous, I'm excited. 8220;Live with intention. Walk to t...

Don’t mean to brag, but I have a lot of really cool, smart friends. Meet some of them who are on the interwebs! Marie is an interpretive exhibit writer. We used to work together, and we have plans to work together again, but right now we mostly get together to drink copious amounts of tea and play lightsabers with our iPhones. Another ex-coworker. Jenn has since left the company we worked at together, and is slowly making her way around the world. Once, in high school, a group of us held a River Phoenix.

Sunday, May 31, 2009. Here I am at 22 weeks 1 day. I went to the thrift store this day looking for some newborn clothes. The checker asked if I had a little one at home too. I said my belly and said, "I have a little one still cooking right here." I thought for sure I was clearly showing! But I guess one has to be careful when assuming someone is pregnant, right?
