Radiologic confidential: June 2006

http://radstudent.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html

The adventures of a radiologic technology student in the Pacific Northwest. Tuesday, June 06, 2006. Well, I've learned the job market for RT's has tightened a bit. Mind you, the reason why I wanted to go into RT is that I'll love the work and the contact with new technologies. Most of all I expect to have fun. And I expect the field to provide me with challenges. Posted by paradise.found @ 9:56 PM. Thursday, June 01, 2006. I also have foundation courses under my belt that might help if I choose to pursue...

Radiologic confidential: More News From The Front

http://radstudent.blogspot.com/2008/04/more-news-from-front.html

The adventures of a radiologic technology student in the Pacific Northwest. Sunday, April 13, 2008. More News From The Front. How do you sum up four months? I'm doing very well. I've had one job interview and another may be on the way. Both are happening and I'm not really trying to find a job just yet. Guys and gals, it pays to network. Buy a box of thank you cards. And be yourself. Classes this quarter include review. I like learning new stuff more! Posted by paradise.found @ 4:21 PM. That alone makes ...

Radiologic confidential: December 2006

http://radstudent.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html

The adventures of a radiologic technology student in the Pacific Northwest. Wednesday, December 13, 2006. Fall Quarter Wrap Up. Overall, the quarter went well. I achieved most of the objectives I set up for myself. My quarterly GPA is around 3.8. I archived most of the objectives set up for me by the school. I began to feel that I was participating on a higher level with some techs. I didn't have many personality conflicts with anyone. But I did fail to speak up for myself. RT students live in glass hous...

Radiologic confidential: Summer Wonder

http://radstudent.blogspot.com/2007/08/summer-wonder.html

The adventures of a radiologic technology student in the Pacific Northwest. Sunday, August 19, 2007. A flood in the MR room, Notes on techniques. Gaining confidence and self-initiative. As I gain experience I find increasing or reducing the kilovoltage peak (kvp) allows me to increase or reduce time. In the case of the Lateral T spine (5 seconds) it blurs the lungs the pt must remain still, seated or supine is best. You need more technique than a CXR. Wednesday I talked to a pt who got run over by a land...

Radiologic confidential: The light at the end of the tunnel

http://radstudent.blogspot.com/2008/01/light-at-end-of-tunnel.html

The adventures of a radiologic technology student in the Pacific Northwest. Thursday, January 24, 2008. The light at the end of the tunnel. The light at the end of the tunnel. Ill, but ok. I cleaned up on the comps. I need to be faster. I skipped class today because I woke up with a sore throat. I thought I'd post as I lay on the couch. I'm the prodigal blogger, the one who lets weeks and months go by between posts. School and clinical is much the same now as my earlier posts. Goals for next week:.

Mountain Imaging: Me = Slacker

http://azx-raytechstudent.blogspot.com/2007/10/me-slacker.html

An X-ray Tech in Northern Arizona. Monday, October 08, 2007. That's the word to describe me. At least in regards to this blog. I cant believe its been so many months since my last post. Unforgivable! With that said, please forgive me! I've been so busy with school, clinicals, summer travel, my photo blog and various other things that I have completely neglected this blog. Sorry. Are you soon to take the registry? If you've been a slacker I've been a superslacker. So long as we return aye? RT Image - Onli...

Mountain Imaging: Morbid

http://azx-raytechstudent.blogspot.com/2007/10/morbid.html

An X-ray Tech in Northern Arizona. Thursday, October 18, 2007. Our latest review section is actually full of some really morbid stuff. For example did you know that it takes more than 5000 rads of radiation to fry your central nervous system, with death occurring in 0-3 days. If I got blasted with 5000 rads I would be hoping for closer to the 0 day mark than the 3 myself. Yikes! Anyway, the moral of the story, kids, is PROTECT YOURSELF. Glad to see you still have the blogger up and running! Ugh my name w...

Mountain Imaging: Update..........FINALLY!!

http://azx-raytechstudent.blogspot.com/2008/05/updatefinally.html

An X-ray Tech in Northern Arizona. Saturday, May 24, 2008. Well, I imagine there aren't too many readers left for this blog and it's my own fault. But if anyone is still left out there, here's an update. I graduated in late December of 2007 and took the registry exam 2 days later. Unfortunately, the results took a couple of weeks to get to me, but when they finally did, I found out that I PASSED! So that's where I am now. I still love my work (most days! That's an excellent score! We have been reviewing ...

Mountain Imaging: Surgery

http://azx-raytechstudent.blogspot.com/2007/06/surgery.html

An X-ray Tech in Northern Arizona. Tuesday, June 05, 2007. I'm in surgery all this week. Not my favorite place to be. Although watching some of the surgeries like lap choles. I really prefer doing general x-ray exams or fluoro. As an X-ray Tech in surgery, you seem so removed and disconnected from the patient. For me, it also seems to be made up of long periods of boredom, broken up by short bouts of extreme nervousness and awkwardness on my part. I'm not that great with the C-arm. I'm new here buddy!

An X-ray Tech in Northern Arizona. Tuesday, July 13, 2010. Holy Hiatus, Batman! 1 year, 2 months and 2 days. That's how long it's been since my last post. Wow. Sorry to leave you all hanging. I'm still working at the hospital here in Flagstaff and couldn't feel farther from being a student. Although this started as a student blog, I feel as though I have fully bloomed into a full on Radiologic Technologist and it feels good to have my student days behind me.at least for now. http://azx-raytechstudent.blogspot.com/2007/10/review.html

An X-ray Tech in Northern Arizona. Wednesday, October 10, 2007. My whole last semester is review, which is good because I haven't thought about Compton scatter and the like since we first learned the material almost a year and a half ago. Our school has provided us with an online account that allows us to take practice tests that are set up just like the registry exam. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. An X-ray Tech in Northern Arizona. Monday, July 16, 2007. Check out this blog, RT Wannabe. By a new Rad Tech student in the Southeast. Just two posts so far, but I have a feeling there will be many more to come. Show your support to a fellow RT student. Thanks for the shout out! I'm a long-time "lurker" of your blog, and I think you do a GREAT job! I'm having some trouble including links on my blog, but as soon as I can, I'd like to link over to yours. Thanks again for the encouragement! X Ray Student 101.
